Polyxena

Polyxena might be useful to have with you, you decide. You check your appearance one final time, then head down into the main house and seek out Antonia.

You find her in the kitchen, helping make sure the morning meal is prepared for the field hands, who have already been out working for several hours. "Antonia!" you call. She glances up in surprise.

"Yes, Lord Gaius?"

"There was a **** you sent to bathe me the other day...a woman named Polyxena. I wondered if I might borrow her for the day?"

Antonia raises an eyebrow. "Polyxena? Whatever for?"

"I'm planning to interview some of the slaves who work on the estate today. I thought Polyxena's language skills and knowledge of the staff might be useful to me."

Antonia's expression clears. "Ah, of course. Let me just find her for you."

After a few more minutes, you're headed out into the fields, Polyxena walking demurely by your side. "We're to interview the field workers?" she asks you as you exit the villa.

"Indeed."

Polyxena frowns. "Very well, dominus. I admit I don't have much in common with them, but...hopefully I can be of some help."
