While young women may face a somewhat harder time climbing through the ranks of bureaucracy (one may struggle to argue she deserves a promotion while she is naked on her knees and her bottom is bright enough to light the room), they are surprisingly well-represented in elected positions. Perhaps the fact a candidate may be mercilessly spanked for any inaccuracy in their debate boosts the trust in their integrity. Another possibility is that people just like to see politicians spanked.

Participating in an election campaign offers a woman no protection against corporal punishment, but highly increases the scrutiny she is under. It is not uncommon for a female candidate to finish a debate, a speech or an event sore and wearing a lot less than at the start; even if there is no central "authority", such as debate host, each party will ensure its candidates appear as responsible (for a young woman) as possible.

Once in office, elected women remain subject to party and office discipline; there is a separate watchdog for the decency of independent candidates' actions. Punishments vary widely, but practically always include at least some public humiliation to reflect the public nature of the offender's position. Poor public approval is usually cause for very severe chastisement; sometimes campaigns are launched to have a particular woman punished harshly over several days (but not necessarily removed from office, as it is believed she is likely to do a better job afterwards so continuity of planning can be preserved). If there is enough support, that is exactly what happens.

In the relatively rare cases when both candidates are young women, different approaches have been observed. Some will try to get the opponent into trouble to look better next to them; others will ignore the issue of discipline unless it is enforced directly. Finally, there have been cases of candidates top openly supporting one another through punishments to show the understanding of the other's (however well-deserved) plight.
