Chapter 167 by ArthurBalfour ArthurBalfour

How does she react?

Politely, she turns him down.

For a moment, she returned the kiss, but it ended. "I am sorry if you have the wrong idea. I did not mean to unduly encourage. Ian, you are a very nice man, and a good dance partner, but I am not interested in a temporary romance. You would like to continue dancing?"

We spent a few more times on the dance floor, she curtsied, I made a gentlemanly bow, and we parted ways.

Then, the thought jumped into my mind. Sara turned me down. Talia failed. Oh my God. Oh my God.

By the time I got back to the girls and their dates, they had stayed there about fifteen minutes too long. Stephanie and Simon couldn't keep their hands off each other, and Amy looked like she was going to explode if she didn't get some action soon. I tapped Talia on the shoulder, so she would stop making out with Rachel, and after a beat she asked, "Well, how'd it go?"

What does Ian tell her?
