“I have no reason to lie to you, Kenji.” You step backwards, playing off your comfortability like a cornered cat. That said, the last thing you wanted was Kenji to go off during his own secret task and **** two guys because of you said.

Besides, if you really wanted to nail those fucks to the wall you’d have to have some kind of proper defense. Just saying what they wanted to wouldn’t do anything defensive-wise.

Kenji stares at you. Unsatisfied by your reply. “Alright. I believe you.” He lies.

You nod and ask if you can go. He lets you off the hook, but as you aim for the stairway, you can feel his eyes bury their stares into your back, nearly breaking it before the door shuts…

You lay in bed, giving the ceiling a blank and watering stare. You sigh and flip over, the blinds weren’t all that thick and it looked like the city was on fire. Wondering if your suspensions were correct, you stood up and went over to the window and pulled the sheets apart. Snow was gently falling from the sky and had already blanketed the entire place in a light layer of white.

The view of the city being covered by snow was calming as the snowflakes continued to drift down and blanket Deadwood. You sat there for a bit, recalling the events of the night, feeling somewhat disgusted with yourself that you nearly sacrificed Sachio on her own planned outing to get a couple of dollars. You could still feel your heart racing as your mind replayed Mikka and his offer in your skull. That could have been horrible.

Hopefully, they don’t do anything else until you can work out another plan.
