She was not getting away with this!

Playing Catch-Up

Marian was driving her horse quite hard. She’d missed the gold train car, after all. Her initial plan was so convoluted! All she had to do was slip a bomb under the train and it would derail with ease! And she could get up to its level in time. The train path got lower, and this dusty side path rose to meet it. She just needed to push onward.

Though a problem presented itself in her rear view. A brown mare, and a weasel with a familiar stetson. “How did you…? Ngh…” Frustration covered the bandit’s face.

“The jig is up, Marian! Surrender now if you want any chance at leniency!” Texas drew her gun, and pointed it at the outlaw. She was slowly closing the distance, with the wagon horse being a bit weighed down…

“I’d rather take my chance at getting rid of you!” She stood and turned around, before kicking a barrel off of the wagon, sending it careening toward Tex.

“Whoa!” Tex pulled the reins, guiding her horse out of the way of the obstacle. Marian, however, was not letting up. She dropped out another barrel, and this one was glowing and hissing at the top. “How much powder do you have, woman?!” The sheriff fired a shot at her, trying to slow her down at least.

“Apparently not enough!” She cried back, ducking under the lip of the wagon, before readying another barrel.

Tex aimed, but that burning barrel was nearing them quickly. As they raced along the track, the path had also narrowed. The train a few feet above them to the left, with a canyon wall rising to the left to sandwich them.

She decided her best course of action to deal with this would be…
