What's next?
Play the +1 card and stand
After a short inner debate, you decide to play your +1 card, making you score a 16. here, you decide to stand and hope for Barriss to lose the game by going over 21.
Barriss: Not so brave now, are we? Standing at 16, really? I expected you to be braver than that!
Lana: Bravery and stupidity are not the same thing! There are times when it's worth taking the risk, and those when it's not!
Barriss: Is that what you are going to tell yourself after I humiliate you to your core, huh?
Lana: You wish you could do that, but if you are so brave, try drawing a few more cards, hoping you won't get busted!
Barriss: You know, that's exactly what I'm going to do!
She draws a new card, it's a +3, so her score is now 15, just below yours. She doesn't have too many options if she wants to win, she must play a card to get her closer to 21 than your 16, or draw a new card.
Lana: You have had luck so far, but what are you going to do now? That 22 is looming ever closer!
Barriss: It might be close for you, but it's still far away for me! I'll draw a new card!
Her new card is a +1, so now both of you are at 16. As a sign of an olive branch, you offer her to just let go of the game and the bet and agree on a stalemate.
Lana: You know, we both could just walk away from this. We both did our best, even if one of us cheated...! But still, we could call it a day! No need for anything humiliating to happen today!
Barriss: What, are you afraid to lose now? I'm just at the peak of my winning streak! I certainly won't stop now!
Lana: Your overconfidence will be your downfall! Don't say I haven't warned you!
Barriss: I'll think on that, when I'll see you naked and crying!
She draws a new card and it's a +4, making her score a 20, which beats your 16. In disbelief, all you can do is stare at her last card and wonder how could she be so lucky.
Lana: I can't believe this! How?!
Barriss (jumping from her seat and dancing in her joy): Yeeees! I knew I had it in me! Hah, a total victory! Never play Pazaak against Barriss, ever, unless you are ready to lost all your clothes to me!
Ranvi (coming with Drek from a few tables away after the commotion): So, how did the game go? Did Barriss win?
Drek: By the look on their faces, I'd say that with a high level of certainty.
Lana (sighing): Yes...
Barriss: Wohou!
Ranvi: How much did you lose Lana? A few hundred or even a thousand?
Lana: Well... Not just credits...
Ranvi: "Not just credits"? What do you mean?
Barriss: Yes Lana, go on, tell her, what else you have lost!
Lana: I lost my armour and lightsabers for the day...
Ranvi (is disbelief): Your what?!
Drek: Oh my, that must have been quite the bet!
Barriss: It was! And it was totally worth it! My greatest victory yet!
Ranvi: Lana, how could you agree to a bet like that?! You should have been more responsible than that!
Lana: It was the heat of the game, alright...?! Besides, I have already regretted doing it...
Ranvi: If you are so careless, you deserve what comes for you! I had expected you to be more clear minded than that!
Lana: I messed it up, okay...?
Barriss: Oh, you'll be way more sorry for that later! As for now... Time for your lost bet!
