What does Mitch do?
Play game 2
Mitch quickly turned back to the table. His pants dropped to the floor as he reached for his poles. He automatically reached to pull them back up. That gave Cindy all the time she needed to shoot. There was a soft thud as it hit the bottom of the goal. Cindy moved all but a single marker back to the center of the rack.
“Let’s go!” Cindy called out when Mitch didn’t immediately reach for the ball. With a sigh, Mitch reached in and pulled out the white sphere. He dropped it in play. Cindy knocked it off his center line twice before missing the rebound. Mitch swung at the ball with his forwards. It was a glancing blow, but moved it towards Cindy’s goal. Cindy managed to deflect it with her defenders, but only enough to get it past her goalie.
“Yes!” Mitch called out. He raised his hands in triumph. By the time he grabbed his poles again, Cindy had already pulled out the ball and put it in play. He managed to shift his grip his defenders in time to knock her shot to the corner, but he was out of position as she caught the rebound with the edge of one of her forwards. The ball hit the other side of the goal and went in.
Mitch quickly reached in and pulled out the ball. He sent it careening towards Cindy’s goal. The blonde managed to block it and sent it back the other way. Mitch stumbled as he shuffled his feet to shift his grip to his back poles. His opponent had no problem taking advantage of it. Mitch reached down to try to adjust things so it wouldn’t happen again.
“That’s a warning for stalling.” you called out. You noticed Pete nodding in agreement as you took another beer from him. Mitch immediately put the ball in play. It moved back and forth between the center lines several times before Mitch managed to get it to his forwards. Cindy blocked his shot and managed to push it back to the center line, only to see Mitch pass it to his forwards. She breathed a sigh of relief as his shot went wide. It went all the way up to her forwards, but she knocked backwards as she tried to control it. Mitch had no problem knocking it home before she could shift to defense mode.
Cindy shot the ball down the center line. It hit the wall on Mitch’s side and stopped. Not wanting to lose a point for stalling, he quickly grabbed it and put it in play again. Again, they battled at center court for a minute before Mitch managed to pass it to his forwards. He took three shots before Cindy gained control of the ball. Mitch shifted to defense as she managed to slip it past both center lines to her forwards. He shifted back to offense as it skidded back to the center line. Her center man sent it flying into his goal.
3-2 cindy
The ball curved towards his men as he put it in play. It slid between the two men closest to Cindy. He held his center rod as Cindy lined up the ball for another back pass. It hit off one of his men and right back to her. She easily beat his goalie. The next ball curved towards Cindy’s men. It caught an edge of one of them and eked to her forwards. She slammed it against the end board three times before she lost it. Mitch slammed it home before Cindy could shift to defense.
Cindy put it in play and essentially the same thing happened…only in reverse. Mitch passed the ball forward and took several hard shots before losing it and Cindy was able to score from the center line. Putting it in play, Mitch took a shot from the centerline. It went wide and Cindy knocked it all the way down the table. Both quickly shifted to that end of the table. It went up the banking in one corner, across the opening of the goal and up the banking in the other corner. Both players tried to shift back to the other end of the table. Mitch tried to take a full step to get into position but forgot about the pants about his ankles. He was able to avoid falling by sitting down on one of the nearby tables.
“That’s a warning for spinning.” you told Cindy as she lost control of her defenders as she shot. The blonde stuck her tongue out at you as she marked her sixth goal of the game.
“And a point for stalling.” Pete added as Mitch continued to sit on the table for a minute.
“Game!” Cindy called out as she slid the seventh and winning marker to her side of the table.
“It seems we have a problem.” you observed, “You haven’t taken anything off from the last game. There needs to be a penalty for breaking the rules. Don’t you agree?” Although you had asked Pete, all three guys called out that they agreed.
“So what should it be?” Pete asked.
What is Mitch’s penalty?
