Pink? Why not?

Thomas waited until the class was working on the essay prompts before he walked back to his desk and pulled out several additional reports to read and review. He didn't really notice how different his handwriting was until one of his students in second period, Jessica, made the comment that she appreciated his added effort to making things easier for her to read. He paused at that until he shook his head and smiled warmly at her. The girl often struggled to read the board and the overhead so for her to both comment on his neat handwriting and on the material told him that she was picking it up.

As the time continued on during the quiz, he looked up and did a visual check on the students working before he glanced off to the side and looked at the quiz sitting on his desk. He thought about leaving it at home but for some reason, he just couldn't really put a finger on it, he had packed it with his other papers and had set it on top before starting the day. Now, during a moment to himself, he pulled it out and looked at the second question on paper.

2.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WOULD YOU LIKE PINK?

Once again, perhaps the more rational side of him would've thought it was odd that they equated being a girl with liking pink, though he supposed too that girls from when they were born were associated with the color. Just like him and blue, girls and pink weren't often far apart in the first several weeks of birth. At first, he thought about answering no, that he wouldn't like the color any more than right now, but he stopped and wondered about that. If he was a girl, and that was the point of this exercise, he would've been exposed to the color and quite often what he was exposed to, he naturally took a liking to it.

He clicked his pen and jotted down his answer. Yes, I would love the color pink. I would use it in almost everything I did, including wearing it. He laughed a little before he finished, not noticing the way his cursive looked very neat and tidy, and when he was done, he clicked the pink pen closed and then moved back to look at the time. "Okay, people, turn in your assignments." He heard some of the moans coming from those that were obviously not done or satisfied with their work but, for the most part, he just shook his head and collected them. "Perhaps, people, maybe you should get on with the reading? Wikipedia's not the savior you think it is."

Coming home, Thomas spotted Darlene's car in the driveway with his wife stepping out and waving as he pulled in next to her. She was wearing a dark navy blue two-piece and matching heels, something that she liked to call "my power hour suit" and despite not really making that much headway, he supposed she felt comfortable in it. Far be it for him to say anything about that. "Looking good, babe!" she called out as he stepped out and walked over to her, taking her jacket and walking with her to the door. "Got more work tonight?"

He shrugged and after fixing a quick dinner, the two of them settled in for a movie. He thought about the papers he had in his bag but decided to skip working for at least one night. Heavens knows he deserved it.

As he got ready for bed, though, he slipped out the quiz and looked at the next question.
