Philosophy

Megan was studying the truth of truth itself. She had worked for years with students in the physics and computer science departments on a project that only she really understood: The Truth Engine.

If her predictions were correct, the small device she held in her hands, a metal cylinder with a button on the side and a microphone on the end, could literally change the world. Anything said into the microphone while the button was pressed would become the truth, no matter how many laws of society, biology, chemistry, or physics would have to change to make it so. She had made the device as Reality-Proof as possible, so no matter how much reality warped around it, it should still function.

Nobody else believed that it could work, but now she had it and could show them the truth. It was just a matter of what truth to change first.

She pressed the button and brought the microphone to her mouth.
