The days and weeks since her birthday had been strange for Buffy Summers, the freshly 18 year old Vampire Slayer.

First her boyfriend, the Vampire known as Angel, had turned evil after losing his soul following a night of passion. Then she had to dust the newly freed Angelus when he brought the supposedly unkillable Demon known as the Judge to the Mall.
