Peter's dad makes a run for it

Peter's father, knowing that running was his only option, gets up and runs towards the door. Peter, who was closer to the door, immediately positions himself in front of the closed door, blocking her escape. Peter's dad starts to scream for help, "Darekatasukete! (Somebody help me!)"

Peter's mother hears the screaming and makes her way towards the noise. Curious, once she arrives in front of Peter's room, she lightly knocks on it, "Peter? Hello? Is everything okay? I think I heard someone yelling. Can I come in?"

Peter's dad tries to call out, but Peter quickly looks at the remote and, seeing a pause button, assumes it does what its label suggests. He aims the remote at his dad and presses the button. Peter's dad freezes instantly.

Peter, with a sigh of relief, calls out to his mom on the other side of the door, "Everything's fine, Mom. I was watching a movie. Sorry, I'll turn it down."

Peter hoped she would buy it. "Oh, okay. Wasn't your father in your room? Can I come in?"

Peter looked at the Hitomi Tanaka look alike standing frozen in the room, trying to come up with a good excuse to explain where his father is. "Um, I think he said he needed to go out for a work emergency. He left in a hurry, probably why you didn't see him go out."

Peter prepared for the worst. If his mom didn't buy the story, he could just use the remote. But for now, he waited for his mom to reply.
