"Let me give you the quick rundown.", said Gabriel. "As the devil gained more power, he began modifying certain societal norms - and the laws to go with it. In a hundred years, these things became normal and accepted among people in general - as unfair as they might seem."

"The biggest change: everything in today's world has a monetary value attached to it. Human life, acts of kindness, parts of your body - everything. This has had some very terrifying consequences - for example, most people get their start in life by taking out a loan with themselves as collateral. If they can't repay, the corp or shark that loaned them the money now owns them. Hell, you could lose ownership of yourself in a bet if you're careless enough.", Gabriel finished, his face dark.

"Wait - so what happens if one person owns another person? Can you ever be free again?" Dana shuddered. The idea of being someone's slave was hot - she had often acted it out in her bedroom. But that was in the right circumstances - being enslaved for life was a very different kettle of fish.

"Every action has a value, remember? So in this case, you need to work for your owner and pay off your debt. For most poor souls, that means a lifetime of slaving away for the corp."

Gabriel saw Dana's concerned expression, and continued "Look, if you're careful out there and don't fall into some kind of scam, you'll be okay. Just don't get into debt with the wrong person or corp."

"Now to the matter at hand - I still haven't located where Amanda is. I have a possible lead on her location - but I need your help to get the info. What do you say?"
