Penny's Apology and ... Confession?

Penny is folding clothes as Ashley approaches her.

“Hey … how’s it going?” Penny inquires with a smile.

“… I don’t know. This is so fucked up.” Ashely replies

“You’re not mad?” Penny whispers

Walking closer Ashley begins to fold clothes, pausing before answering “Yes ... I am mad, but ... not mad at the same time.”

“I feel strange, I am still me, but there is this new part of me buzzing in my head” Ashley muses.

“All I want to do is kill the people responsible for creating the Breeding Passes. The longer I think about the pass Luke used ... the more I remember. The pass had fine print saying something about how we can’t get a … get a …” Ashley pauses failing to find the word.

“You know when women go get a … a … a ... when they don’t want to be pregnant anymore” Ashley mumbles.

Penny follows Ashley’s line of reasoning but also finds herself stuck … failing to find the right word.

Bang!

Ashley stomps her foot, “Fuck! All I want to do is beat up Shannon, you, and especially Luke. But whenever I try to get angry at you guys, I feel warm inside. Why can’t I get angry? Ashley loudly shouts as she vents her frustration.

“Worse of all, I keep daydreaming of myself sporting a baby bump while cheerleading or walking in school. Shouldn’t those delusions infuriate me? Why does pregnant imagery excite me? Ashley yells

The few customers get startled at the noise. Most of whom start to leave the store.

Getting quiet Ashley whispers “I was going to be someone important, not just another soccer mom.”

There is a long pregnant pause before Penny builds the courage to speak.

Stepping closer and taking Ashley’s hands. She looks Ashley in the eyes, “You are someone important. You are important to me” Speaking softly.

Ashley's eyes go wide.

“I too am feeling a lot of strong emotions” Penny whispers

Building courage Penny continues “Everything was happening so fast. First that couple in the change booth having sex. Then Luke is fucking Shannon in the backroom. Then Luke hands me the Breeding Pass and bends me over. Before I knew it, I was just like all my sisters and cousins. Knocked up in high school and doomed to family life.”

“Even now all can do is daydream of myself rocking babies as I sing nursery rhymes,” Penny explains

Taking a deep breath, Penny steps back and bows forward before loudly proclaiming “I am sorry! I agreed to Shannon’s plans. I wasn’t thinking right. I shouldn’t have **** you into the same situation as me.”

Standing back up, she again looks Ashley in the eyes before turning around.

“I was so scared. How am I going to follow Ashley? She is so smart and pretty, she can do anything. I can’t go to college with a baby on my hip. I am going to be stuck out of your life. Alone without you.” Penny says before sighing.

“I understand if you don’t want to be friends anymore. I was weak and selfish” Penny whispers

Shocked by Penny's confession, but also feeling excited Ashley steps forward and embraces Penny.

“You don’t need to apologize, those bastards behind the Breeding Passes are to blame. We are all acting like drunk idiots because of them.”

Ashley turns Penny around before grabbing the sides of her face and kissing Penny on the lips.

“Thank you for your honesty. But I already knew you had the hots for me. Otherwise, you would have been just like your younger sister. Dating at 16 and pregnant at 17.”

Penny starts to tear up.

“Hey, don’t cry, sorry I didn’t mean to tease you. And you don't need to be scared, we can get through this together.” Ashley whispers.

“I am not sad, I am happy” Penny explains before embracing Ashley in a deep kiss.

Penny pulls back and looks at Ashley's body. "I can't wait to see you pregnant. You are going to Rock the Bump!" Penny says excitedly

"So not only are you gay but now you have a pregnancy fetish?" Ashley inquires

Penny leaning back in, "only when you're the one who is pregnant".
