Nightfall?
Peaceful
We set our camp efficiently, as if we had long been working together. I took the first watch, Zack offered to scout around, Ruby went to her meditation and Gusnar offered to prepare the food. It was the stout cook that started the conversation
"You should have your fortune read, gall" I kept my eyes on the woods
"I dont need a fortune teller, I trust Myra will deliver me" My tone was a little briskier then I intended.
"We are no superstitious fools, Ruby know things. Now you can do what you want, gall, but you should think twice before spitting in the eye of a helpful friend."
We stay in silence for a while, and then I say "Tara. My name is Tara, and I am sorry if I was harsh. There can be no harm in me talking to her"
"Ha, that is more like it. And just in time, dinner is ready" He was a better cook than I gave him credit, the three became quite talkative during dinner, as Zack assured us there was nothing around that could threaten us.
At some point, after we were all done, Ruby clapped her hands, calling our attention. Again, but this time I could see the sinuous curves of her body against the bonfire. She was far more attractive than I had first given her credit for. The stout dwarf proved even more resourceful, he had a fiddle ready, and gave Ruby the music she needed. Bells and coins around her body started to ring as she started to undulated in the rhythm of the music, she spun with the lividness of flame.
She first invited me to join her, but I declined. She then asks Zack, and the hunk readily complies. Forget about him, I only had eyes for her daunting legs as her skirt flew up, her swagging flesh as she threw herself against her dancing partner. A lust demon must have taken over the gypsie, her passion was fire, her movements were the wind. Jealousy and regret gripped my heart, that it wasn't me that now had a leg wrapped around my chest, but also glad to have had to opportunity to watch their grace. It was...beautiful.
Later that night, I asked Ruby to have my fortunes read. She is quite amiable, and readily agrees. We are by the bonfire, she with her loose outfit, me down to my brigandine. she picks up a card deck, shuffles, and asks me to cut.
The first card she turned up is the monster. She told me that represented the danger we were about to face. It was up, a good omen.
The second card was the chalice. "This represents the means to defeat the monster, although I confess myself confused at its meaning. Perhaps it would later become clear".
The third was the lovers. She smiled at me coyly, saying I would find true love in this adventure, and soon. I noticed she glances in the direction of Zack, who is looking back "No... you dont understand, Ruby. I reserve all my love to the fairer sex" teasingly, I caressed her cheek, and what a shade of red this sedductress became!
The fourth were the stars. "A revelation. From ancient times mankind looked to the skies for guidance. It is said the first diviners were all stargazers."
"Couldnt it be instead... that my love will be a diviner?" Her coy manner made be bold, and I could use some teasing. It was quite amusing how seriously she took this trade. "well... yes, I suppose. We could have that read"
"and... do you know of any other diviners in our group? Or, do you think we will find one just tomorrow" she shook her head. "So why dont you kiss me?"
Will Tara get a kiss?
