What thing does she mean?
Patrick's house party
"Patrick's house party, of course! How did you forget your own best friend was having a party?" Molly teases.
Truth be told, you didn't exactly forget. You just had no intentions of going, and were hoping she didn't wanna go either. In hindsight, it makes no sense for a 21-year-old girl to not wanna party. Regardless, you hope to convince her not to go.
"Right. That thing. Listen, I'm not really in a party mood. I think it'd be better to skip it, don't you?" You say as casually as possible to not draw suspicion.
"Um, no. I worked my ass off this week and I want to blow off some steam. And since when do you turn down a night of drinking and bullshitting around with your friends?" Molly is clearly upset with you. Looks like you have to come clean.
"Ok, so ever since Patrick's girlfriend dumped him, he's been off. This party is just a big excuse to get some rebound sex before drinking himself into a coma. It's just not my kind of vibe," you admit.
"Aren't guys supposed to help each other get rebound sex after a breakup?"
"Eh, it's encouraged but it's not required," you answer flatly.
"Regardless, you don't know for sure if this party is gonna be a disaster, it sounds like your friend might need you tonight, and it sounds like there's gonna be a lot of alcohol there so I'm going no matter what. You gonna come with me, or stay here and be a bum?" Molly teases you.
