Park Ranger

As you turn to the direction of the footsteps, you suddenly hear a loud bang and it takes you a second to realize it's the sound of a gun shot. The loud bang startles the 4 guys but they stay in their positions around Erica because they're under your mind control. Forgetting that you're invisible for a moment, you shout, "Run, you guys!" with your mind control ring still activated and they instantly let go of Erica and take off at full speed in the opposite direction of the gun shot. You start to follow them until you remember that you're invisible and you try to calm down from the adrenaline pumping through your veins.

While you try to get your heartbeat under control, the footsteps get closer and you see a tall, chiseled man dressed in a green uniform approaching. He's in good shape and looks like he's in his 30s with a jawline that could break rocks. He must be a park ranger and he has his handgun pointed up in the sky. He must have fired a warning shot when he heard Erica screaming for help as he happened upon the group.

"Don't run!" he shouts after the 4 guys but he makes no attempt to chase after them and instead turns his attention to the sobbing Erica on the ground. "Ma'am, you're alright now. It's okay. I'm here. I'm a park ranger," he says, dropping to 1 knee beside Erica as he helps her up.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Erica cries out, taking his hand and climbing off the dirt and leaves under her.

"Are you hurt? Are you with someone?" the ranger asks.

Erica shakes her head to the first question. "I- I- I was with my husband but I don't know what happened to him. We were at the lake and I went in for a dip while he stay on shore and the next thing I knew, he was gone and those guys showed up out of nowhere and- and- and-" Erica can't finish describing what happened as she breaks down into sobs again, not that the ranger can't guess the rest.

"Okay... can you walk? Let's get you to somewhere safe first, and then we'll look for your husband, okay?" the ranger says, standing up. He looks around the ground, probably for Erica's clothes, but they're not here.

Erica nods and uses her arms to try to cover herself as best as she can, although the ranger has seen everything already.
