Parent-Teacher Conference

One day, Walter found himself in a tricky situation. His son Jeff was in trouble at school, and the administrators had called for a parent-teacher conference. Unfortunately, Walter's wife couldn't make it. Eager to support his son, Walter decided to use an innovative solution with his laptop and a futuristic device attached that resembled a webcam.

Walter sat down with Jeff in the living room, his expression a mix of concern and resolve. "Jeff, I know you're going through a tough time at school, and I want to be there for you. Your mom can't make it, so I have an idea for an alternative approach."

Jeff looked puzzled. "What do you mean, Dad?"

Walter leaned in, his voice tinged with excitement. "I've been tinkering with this new device connected to my laptop. It's a bit unconventional, but I think it can help us. I'll attend the conference virtually, without anyone knowing."

Jeff's eyes widened with curiosity. "You mean, like, you'd be there on a screen?"

Walter nodded. "Precisely. Since Mr. Johnson is known for his... distractions, we can use that to our advantage. I'll appear as a digital image during the conference."

Jeff grinned, catching on to the plan. "Dad, that's brilliant! But will it really work?"

Walter smiled confidently. "I've tested the setup, and it should work perfectly. We just need to be cautious and ensure no one suspects a thing."

Jeff nodded eagerly. "Let's do it, Dad!"

Walter chuckled. "Alright, let's get started. Remember, this is our little secret for now. Your mom doesn't need to know... yet."

As they prepared, Walter explained the process to Jeff. "When I digitize, my body will be transmitted through this device." He pointed to the futuristic webcam attached to his laptop.

Jeff's eyes sparkled with fascination. "So, you'll be like a picture on the screen?"

Walter nodded. "Exactly. I'll be a digital avatar, able to move and speak within the constraints of the video feed. It's like being a JPEG file that comes to life."

Jeff grinned widely. "That's amazing! You'll be there without actually being there!"

"Something like that," Walter replied with a smile. "Now, let's make sure everything is set up perfectly."
