Mara saw the name of the sandwich house and instantly remembered it was the name she’d created for her former sneaky link Kevin to hide him in her phone. They’d hooked up off and on for a number of years but Mara had effectively benched him when she’d started getting serious with Hugh. She’d deleted Kevin from her socials as well so wasn’t sure how he’d seen what she’d put up before. She would have to check her privacy setting again later.

Mara hurriedly typed back, feeling as if she was going to get caught by Hugh talking to Kevin at any second.

She knew it was a lie most likely but Kevin did have a caring side to him when he wasn’t just looking for a piece of action. Mara debated with herself if she should risk giving Kevin an opening. She knew from past experience what might happen if she did.
