Pain and Hardship

Jeff’s drones confirmed he’d arrived just outside what was left of Konohagakure. The ruins of the once great ninja village left a definite impression on anyone that saw it. Pain’s **** on the village had left much of it a crater and the buildings on the outskirts were mostly rubble. The date on his tablet showed that five years had passed since then and it was clear that the outcome of that battle was far different that what was supposed to happen. The scout team reported that instead of winning the final battle and convincing Nagato to bring back those that had fallen, Naruto was defeated and the Nine-Tails was extracted from him by the Akatsuki. The surviving Leaf shinobi were then hunted down and either eliminated or made no longer a threat to the Akatsuki’s goals. Even Hokage Rock in the distance had been destroyed by them in what was clearly a warning to the remaining villages of the world. The rest of the world had taken this as an act of war against them but mutual distrust between them prevented them from working together as an allied ****. Finally shortly after the destruction of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, all reports of Sasuke Uchiha and his Taka group stopped as well. There was no indications of whether they were eliminated by the Akatsuki as well or if they simply went into hiding though knowing how Sasuke’s tended to seek out conflict this seemed unlikely.

This fit all the parameters of a Doom World for Jeff and the fact that his 3 target characters were still reported active under the circumstances was nothing less then astounding considering how important they were to the original timeline. He had made sure to pack appropriate gear and wear inconspicuous clothing to blend in. He had always preferred when hunting to work solo as full on extraction teams tended to prefer quick smash and grabs he preferred the challenge of pulling his targeted characters out on his own through investigation and tracking them down then either convincing them to leave voluntarily, (sometimes this was very easy due to the circumstances the character had suffered) sedation by various means or other methods that might be available. Seeing that all his gear had arrived intact (various ninja tools such as Kunai, his tablet for information and communication with his various stealth recon drones, sensu beans, an injection syringe with a mysterious medication for the first target and various other **** and pills for sedating targets) he set out in the direction that had been designated for him.
