Where is Renee going to college?
Overseas, she speaks the language (Sorbonne)
There was no way, in this economy, that Renee was going to pay an arm and a leg in student loans for an American university. The British were hardly any help, either, but Renee saw many opportunities for cheap schooling and financial aid on the continent. The prospect of spending her formative years in Paris was much too alluring, especially when the half-Quebecoise already spoke the language.
The student council president, debate team captain, yearbook committee member, and hockey and softball player was a shoe-in for the Sorbonne, and such a momentous occasion provided an obligatory trip for the whole family to Paris - not just Renee and her parents and her brother Marcus, but also her grand-maman and grand-papa. None of these people had ever been to Paris, and could only hope not to draw too much scorn with their pah-tweh.
That said, Renee was ecstatic at finally arriving at the most romantic city on Earth, ready to make a name for herself and rise up the ranks. Little did she know that there were plans or schemes to strip her so suddenly and thoroughly that she could only say tabarnak!
What happens in Paris? Does the family run into scammers?
