Outside the mansion

As I stood in the hallway of the upstairs of the guest house, I looked down at my feet. The floor was wet... wait, not just that... the wall was all wet, at a low point, about waist height. Did I rub against it when I came up? I know I'm drenched, but am I still that wet?

Wait... I think I have to put my mystery hat on for just a bit...

I noted the position of the water, then followed the dripping pattern up the wall with my eyes. Bingo... This one window was closed, but not locked. Erika... Did you really jump from all the way up here on the second story to the mansion floor below? Wincing, I opened up the window and stuck my head outside... There was no sign of her. Just a furious storm, re-wetting the hair that I'd finally almost gotten to drip dry.

Then shimmied across that ledge in the rain?! That detective's authority has made her way too bold! She's climbing all over the guest house like some sort of spider right now, isn't she?!

I clenched my fingers onto the windowsill and shot out of it, nearly slipping and falling into the bushes below. Gritting my teeth, I moved across the narrow space, finding it much harder in my slick, man-sized loafers than Erika must have with her small, bare feet. Ignoring the gross feeling of the rain-slick wall against the back of my suit, I bulled on, making my way around that corner.
