Out of the Volcano

"Finally outside! I thought I would be trapped in that volcano forever." You say as you finally reach the exit on the other side from where you entered. You entered from the sea opening, so this opening should put you overlooking Cinnabar Island and the township established on it. Sure enough, you're overlooking the town. It's far bigger than Pallet Town, but the little hamlet you called home was always out in the sticks.

"We would have been outside hours ago if you just listened to my directions!" The little fairy sitting on your shoulder says. Well, calling her a fairy isn't exactly accurate, she is the manifestation of Moltres' mind whose body is resting dormant inside you. You don't even want to know how that works, but if a Pokemon can rest in a Pokeball; why not a human body?

"Molly, if I was to take the directions of a 300 year old deity life wouldn't be an adventure." You explain to her for the twentieth time. You've taken to calling her Molly, since calling her Moltres might bring unwanted attention. Also, her appearance is that of a human figure with long flowing red hair and freckles. Seems weird to just call her Moltres.

"300 years old? I told you, I'm 276! How dare you add nearly a quarter century to my age! Have you no tact, woman?" Molly screeches into your ear, invoking a sigh. At that age does it really matter? She's old enough to be your great great... great great great grandmother! That's a lot of greats!

"Okay. Okay. Sorry!" You apologize, walking down the volcano trail with Ivysaur at your side. You'd decided to give Rhyhorn a rest an hour ago, besides it wasn't so hot anymore anyway. Apparently Heatran had been responsible for the unbearable hotness.

As you approach the bottom of the trail that feeds out into town, a duo approach you. One is holding camera equipment and the other a microphone. A journalist and her camera man? She runs right to you and thrusts the mic in your face.

"Hello! I'm Debra from Channel 5! You just came from the volcano, correct? How is it in there? Hours ago Cinnabar officials were evacuating the island because of a possible eruption, and now they're giving the all clear!" She asks, looking at you like you're the source for some big story. You're kinda glad she can't see Molly sitting on your shoulder; that would lead to more questions. Only you can see her while she inhabits your body; well you and other Pokemon.

"Right! I think I saw you cover the Machoke bikini contest last month." You recognize her from the news so decide to tell her as such to hopefully flatter her into leaving you alone. However it seems to have the opposite effect.

"You saw that abomination? My bosses only give me lousy assignments like that one. I swear if I have to cover one more county fair I'm going to lose it. That's why you have to tell me everything you know about the volcano. Or I'll beat it out of you!" She threatens, taking out a pokeball.

"Well, it doesn't look like its going to erupt any-- wait what!" You pause as you realize she just threatened you. "I don't think that is standard journalistic practice!"

"I don't care! I need this story! They have me out here covering a cake bake! If you won't talk then I'm going to **** it out of you!" Debra from Channel 5 says as she steps back to prepare to battle.

After rearranging your Pokemon earlier, you're carrying Ivysaur, Rhyhorn, Slowpoke, Staryu, Slugma, and Tangela. If you're going to be fighting two-on-one, you should probably use two Pokemon.

"Fine! If that's how you want to play, I'm down. Ivysaur! Slowpoke! Come on out!" You shout, summoning your Pokemon to your side.

"So you're going to make this a hostile interview? Very well. Jason, you fight too. Growlithe go!" She barks, releasing her fire doggy as her camera man releases a Magnemite.

Interesting. The type match-up is a doozy. Growlithe has the advantage on Ivysaur but is weak to Slowpoke. Magnemite on the other hand can dispatch Slowpoke and resists both of Ivysaur's types.
