Currently, though Cinder might have only gained half of the Fall Maiden's powers due to Qrow interfering and stopping the process from competing that still didn't stop the now half maiden from reveling in her soon-to-be victory. Once she locates Amber all she needed to do is finish what she started and acquire the remaining power of the maiden. However, little did Cinder know was when she is absorbing the power of the maiden, she unknowingly picked up a hitchhiker in the form of Amber's consciousness who after learning she could take control of Cinder's body without her even realizing it decided rather than just killing her for what she's done will instead use this golden opportunity given to her to humiliate Cinder and make her regret, she ever picked a fight with the Fall Maiden.

Guess it just goes to show that some things WILL come back to haunt you after all~.
