Out in the water

When you wake up, you can hear the sounds of seagulls and smell the ocean breeze. It takes you a while to remember where you are as you rub your eyes and sit up in bed. It's bright outside and the sunlight is shining through a window in the cabin. As your eyes adjust, you look to either side of you. Martha and Elsa are gone, although the imprints of their bodies are still visible on the mattress. You run your hands over the spots where they had slept. The sheets feel cold, which means they've been up for a while.

When you finally manage to pull yourself out of bed, you make your way out of the cabin and back to the helm of the boat where you had last seen Abby. From the looks of it, you're some distance away out in the water as you don't see anything on the horizon except water. You wonder if Abby had been minding the boat last night, or if she had found some time to get some rest. The controls to the boat are unattended and for a split second, you panic, not knowing what to do, until you notice that the auto-pilot indicator is on 1 of the screens that monitor the boat's activity, and you realize Abby must have engaged it after the boat was out in the open waters and in no danger of running into anything. Still, you don't see her, so you decide to head over to the deck in continuation of your search.
