Out In The Woods

One day, deep in the tropical jungles of Seaside Island, a familiar badger girl was simply enjoying a quiet day out among nature.

After fending off several assaults from Eggman and his robot forces, coupled with the overall stresses of everyday life, Sticks needed some time away from all the craziness. And where better to do that than out among the trees?

Sticks: Ahhh... it sure is peaceful out here today.

Stretching, the badger girl felt more relaxed than she had been for a long time. The environment in which she grew up in had a calming effect on her otherwise skeptical mind; mostly due to the fact that today, she chose not to deal with any problems relating to robots or civilian life in general.

Sticks was so at ease with herself, a yawn came out of her mouth without any warning.

Sticks: Whoa... where did that come from? Maybe it might be a good time to take a nap or something...

Checking her surroundings, Sticks scoured for a suitable place where she can just take a load off. As she uttered more and more yawns, Sticks soon spotted the perfect place; a large gathering of moss and soft leaves situated at the base of a massive tree.

Sitting herself down, Sticks felt how warm it was due to a sizeable break in the canopy allowing sunlight to pass down to the forest floor. The vegetation itself was so soft, that one could almost mistake it for a couch, or even a mattress!

Sticks: Wow... this feels so cozy... and the sun's just the right amount of warm...

Laying her back against the moss-covered tree, Sticks just let the sunlight wash over her face as she took in every bit of comfort that her discovery provided. Gradually, her growing state of relaxation drifted her off to a pleasant sleep.

As Sticks enjoyed her blissful slumber, she was completely unaware that something else was lurking nearby! Three pairs of eyes soon peered out from the thick jungle vegetation and all of them came to rest on a sleeping Sticks!
