Chapter 4

Any other species we should know about?
Other races.
Due to the prevalence of free flowing magic across the twin worlds it is inevitable that every now and then an individual will become changed by the world around them. Sometimes these changes cause irreparable harm that ruins that persons life, and sometimes it is beneficial. Occasionally a large group of people will become affected by a magic flare or overtime by repeated exposure, which is how we ended up with the mixed races.
Elves-
The ancestors of elves were once human residents of the progenitor world city of Nidren, until they were all changed over night by a mysterious magical event. Still mostly human these people found themselves blessed with a larger than normal magical talent and healthier bodies overall. While they were initially treated poorly by the countries around them they were eventually able to integrate fully back into society with the new name of elves. Nowadays full blooded elves are rare, breeding with humans having diluted their most prominent features, leaving most of their genetic mark in the form of ocassional pointed ears or unusual hair colors in humans. Full blooded elves age slowly compared to most humans and have an increased ability to use magic, but can suffer from mana poisoning much easier than a normal human, so they should be careful working or living near magicite.
