Open the door

Catman's mind raced. He didn't want to open the door. He knew that whatever Black Mask had sent him, it couldn't be good. But he had to find out what it was. Catman slowly walked towards the door, his heart pounding in his chest. He reached for the doorknob and twisted it. The door made a loud creaking noise as it opened, and Catman braced himself for whatever was on the other side.

Catman opened the door, and he let out a gasp. Standing in front of him was a box, a large box wrapped in brown paper. Catman looked at it, uncertain of what to do next. He knew that Black Mask wasn't the kind of person to send him presents, so he couldn't shake the feeling that this box was going to contain something dangerous. But he had to know what was inside. He stepped forward and picked up the box. It was surprisingly heavy.

Catman carried the heavy package over to his counter and set it down. He looked at it curiously. He had no idea what Black Mask had sent him, but he knew he had to investigate. Catman reached out and pulled off the brown paper, exposing the box underneath. It was a plain wooden box, with no markings or labels that could indicate what was inside. Catman slowly lifted the lid of the box, and he was met with a shock.

Inside the box was a cat collar. Catman's eyes widened in surprise. He hadn't expected to find anything like this inside the box. Catman turned the collar over in his hands, examining every inch of it. On the inside of the collar was embroidered a single phrase: "I'll Be Seeing You."

Catman the noticed a second box. He slowly opened it.

Inside the box was of a cat's head. It was the cat Catman had been caring for. Catman stared at the lifeless face of the cat, his jaw dropped. He was horrified. But that wasn't all. Attached to the cat's neck was a small note. Catman took the note and unfolded it. He read the note slowly, his heart pounding. It was from Black Mask.

"Hello, Catman." The note said. "I hope you enjoyed your little gift. I thought it was only fitting that I send you the cat head of the cat you cared for, since I plan to make you the next cat's head. I took your cat, next I take your life and your city."

Catman was speechless. He couldn't believe what he was reading. Black Mask was coming after him, and he had sent him a warning in the form of the head of the cat Catman had cared for, it was a grim show that Black Mask was very aware of Catman's life. What was Black Mask planning? Catman suddenly felt very alone and very exposed. He needed help, and he needed it fast.
