Open The Letter

Sitting down in a chair in the commons area, you look over the pink envelope curiously. The only markings upon it are your name written sloppily on the front and a blue-with-pink-hearts bit of tape on the back holding it closed. Tugging off the tape, you open the envelope and look inside to see a single slip of paper. Turning the envelope upside down to shake the paper free, you are surprised when not just the note falls out but four other objects as well. The first is a full shaker of salt, the second a small box of sugar cubes, the third a flat piece of plastic with some form of pentagram printed on it, and the fourth a slightly smaller green envelope.

You wonder if perhaps this is a similar spell to the Bottomless Bag enchantment Susan used as you lift up the note, which is in the same handwriting on the front of the envelope to read it:__

Thanks for the sandwich and the invite to that duel, as weird as it turned out being. I hope you're feeling better.

I also hope we get to talk more in the future, even if Mana doesn't seem to like you right now. Try dumping the sugar or salt (or both!) in the middle of the magic circle, think of some snack you like that's salty or sweet (or both!) and say, "Snackos".

A small smile comes to your lips as you decide to try it out, dumping the salt shaker on the circle, thinking of those large, hot, soft pretzels you used to get in the park near your home. You feel the magic at your fingertips as you say the magic word and, to your amazement, the salt slowly shifting and transmuting until a piping hot, fresh looking (and tasting as you quickly let yourself discover) soft pretzel is before you.

As you munch on your impromptu snack, a part of your mind working on what to make with the sugar later, the rest of your attention turns to the green envelope. There is nothing on the front but, on the back, it is sealed with a wax crest in the shape of a phoenix. Cracking it open, you reach inside and pull out a note with much fancier handwriting than Selena's as well as something that looks like a small, six-sided, green gemstone. However, when you shake it you notice that its insides slosh about, indicating it is a container for some form of liquid.

Curious and curiouser, you think as you now read the second note:

Apologies for having someone sneak this into Selena's spell space for me but I doubt you are of the mind to trust me at the moment after all that happened last night.

Please believe me when I say my intention was not to cause the incident as it unfolded and I would like the chance to both make amends for it as well as a chance to get to know you personally instead of the horrible accounts Harmony told me. You seem a decent enough person and I hope this initial rough meeting can be turned to a new friendship.

P.S. As a sign of good will, if you find yourself having trouble with a woman you like, crush the container for the perfume inside in her presence and you shall not be disappointed.

You look the small container over, frowning as you slip it into your pocket. You may want to have it looked at before you follow that advice... but now it is starting to get late and you have a VERY long class to prepare for in the morning.
