One week later...

It was one week later after your arrival at the arboretum. No progress had been made on determining the identity of the rapist. Both Hestia and Filia had recovered from their ordeal, at least for the most part. Filia turned out to be quite a sweet and cheerful girl once you got to know her. As per Miku's request, the two of you spent most of your time together. You and Filia did odd jobs, helping here and there. In reality, your job was to check in on the other girls to look for clues. So far, you had found the following:

Hestia spent more of her time at camp, with Miku. You assumed that the rape hit her much harder than it did Filia.

Miku, as per usual, spent her time at camp. She'd leave every now and then to pick up food, or go take a bath, but she spent most of her time under the apple tree, thinking.

Cynthia on the other hand, appeared to rarely be at camp anymore. You didn't know where she was going. You often found her in random areas of the arboretum, you heard she was even in the food room at one point.

Rem and Rei, the two blue-haired girls, got along spectacularly. They liked to spend a lot of time by the riverside, and make baskets for people to use.

C.C. wasn't a shy woman, but she was very quiet all the same. She was a fantastic climber, and would often climb to the top of several trees to pick the fruit that other people couldn't reach.

Erza was a feisty woman. She had a fiery temper that matched her hair. She often got into arguments with the 'bookworm' Zelda. Erza liked to simply lounge about, only doing work when told, while Zelda picked leaves for bedding. She claimed she didn't like it, but that no one else would do it if she didn't.

Noel was a shy lass, who spent her time cooking food for everyone to eat. She wasn't the greatest cook, but she greatly enjoyed doing so.

Ruby was a friendly girl, but like Erza, she was a bit lazy. Still, she claimed she helped by sharpening sticks to use for roasting food. She also liked to hang out in the Jungle by herself.

It was the evening. You weren't sure on the time. You were at camp, huddled around the fireside, helping Noel cook the chicken that had arrived in today's food drop. Miku and Filia were sitting nearby, helping Noel to chop up some fruit with sharpened stones. Hestia was drawing awkwardly in the dirt.

As you're taking the chicken off of the fire, you feel something drop on your breast. It's a droplet of water. You feel a second, and then a third. You look up to the roof, and notice that the sprinkler system is dripping water all over the place.

"Shit." Mutters Miku. "I knew it had been too long without rain. Pack it up girls, we'll eat in the cave."

Miku yells at the tops of her lungs to gather all the other girls over to camp to help pack up. You grab the chicken and the clay dish meant to serve them on, and run over to the cave.

Everyone manages to bring everything in. You set the bowl of chicken down on a raised rock formation and Noel adds the fruit. She then proceeds to chop up the remaining fruit while Zelda and C.C. attempted to start a fire. (There was a vent in the top of the cavern, thankfully)

"Hey..." Filia states. "Where's Cynthia?"

Everyone looks around. There were only ten people in the cave.

"Ruby's missing as well..." Rem adds. "Are they using the bathroom?"

You glance at Miku. She glances back at you. Suddenly, though, Ruby appears from out of the tunnel leading to the exit.

"Speak of the devil..." you say. "Is Cynthia with you?"

"Huh?" Ruby replies. "She's not here? I didn't notice her at the campsite, so I went looking for her. I didn't check the jungle though, perhaps she's in there? I'll go check..."

"No, that's alright Ruby." You reply. "You're soaking wet already. I'll go look for her..."

Miku extends her hand out, and then bring it back. She looked like she wanted to stop you, but among all the girls, she'd look suspicious. She glares at you, and simply mouths the words: "Be careful".

You give a smile of approval and exit out the twisting tunnel back to the downpour below.
