Chapter 7 by TheRandomSN
How does their plan pan out?
One slight hiccup…
Sara felt self-conscious as she walked along the sidewalk back home. She tried to keep a good pace but the slightest breeze would twitch the hem of the shirt she wore and she was worried it might drift up if she moved too fast. At the same time she knew that every car that passed was seeing her bare legs and feet. At least one of them would have to guess she wasn’t wearing pants. So far no one had stopped and said anything.
Trying to walk normally to not draw eyes she fought the urge to hold onto the bottom of the shirt to keep it in place. She had to remind herself to let her arms move casually.
She turned the corner onto her street and moved quickly. By now she thought that Christina should have made it to the dumpsters unless she had to hide somewhere else until it was clear. If not she still had time to get there before Sara started the return trip to the school.
Walking up the driveway to her front door, she peered into the living room window and saw no one moving about in the house. She had to hope that her luck held long enough for her to get to her bedroom.
She opened the front door and walked inside. She could hear her mom in the kitchen, and started walking to her room, calling a quick “hi” as she passed. She didn’t break her stride, and given that her mom didn’t say anything she felt safe in thinking she had her back turned when she went by.
Sara stepped through the hall and entered her bedroom, only seeing once she was fully inside that her sister was sitting on her bed.
“Hey Sar- wait, what are you wearing?”
Sara pressed a finger to her lips and closed the bedroom door, “not so loud!”
“Are you really not wearing any pants?” Mia was two years older and in college. She came home a few times a month, and Sara had completely forgotten she would be here this weekend.
“Yes, they’re just really short pants. Look, I-“
“Then why did you hush me when you came in? Clearly you didn’t want mom to hear anything.”
“No, it’s not that, it’s just-“
“Prove it. Show me your pants.”
Sara knew that she was caught. She took a deep breath and let it out in a sigh. “Okay, look, here’s what happened.”
***
“Christina?”
She’d been hiding behind the dumpsters, crouched down because if she stood straight her head would be visible over the wall or the garbage bins. Her legs were sore and her back was starting to ache. Two separate times someone had walked by and Christina had felt her pulse quicken again and a new blush set into her face. She felt like she’d been waiting for hours, but know only twenty to thirty minutes had passed. At first she wasn’t certain the voice was Sara’s, it had startled her too much for her to pay attention. But she called again, and Christina answered her.
“I’m back here,” she called out.
Sara squeezed between the dumpsters, standing to Christina’s right and held her arm out, holding a grocery bag filled with clothes. “Hey, uh, we got a little complication.”
She snatched the bag and opened it, spying the shirt on top. “What complication?”
“Hey there,” a voice from Christina’s right said.
She spun to her right, her hands going back over her breasts and vagina in a panic. Seeing a woman’s face peeking around the other side of the dumpster she took two quick steps backwards before realizing it was Mia, Sara’s sister.
“Mia!” She hissed, “get out of here!”
Mia started laughing, “oh my god, I can’t believe this! You’re seriously naked back here!”
“Someone’s going to hear you!”
“No way, there’s no one around. How did it feel running out here like that?”
“Horrible, now go away!”
“Come on, Mia,” Sara said, “Leave her alone. We’ve been through enough.”
Mia backed out of the gap between the dumpsters, still laughing hard. Christina ducked back to the grocery bag and started pulling the shirt on.
“Seriously” Mia said from out of sight, “you ran through the whole school like that, and then outside. I wish I’d been there to see it!”
“That’s enough Mia,” Sara chided.
Christina shot her leg through the pair of jeans Sara had brought her. She was so happy to be getting dressed again she didn’t care that they would be a little tight on her. She snapped and zipped the jeans before jamming her feet into the pair of well-worn sandals she’d been donated, and squeezed between the dumpster and wall to meet back up with her friend.
“Feel better now?” Mia asked.
“Shut up,” Christina said, “This really isn’t very funny,”
“Oh stop being a bad sport. Someday you’ll look back-“
“I’m about to hit you, now drop it.”
“Okay, okay,” Mia backed away, mock fear on her face. “I’ll stop, I promise.”
Christina turned back to Sara and hugged her, “thank you so much, you have no idea how scared I was.”
“Hey, friends help each other out of jams. You’d do the same for me. About getting together tonight…”
“I know, I’m beat too. My heart’s been pounding so much, it really took it out of me. I’ll probably pass out after dinner.”
“I get it. Free tomorrow night?”
“Yeah, you’re on.”
They hugged once more before turning away, and Christina started heading home.
