One of the Bat Family members arrived in the sewers.

"Freeze, Clayface!"

A familiar feminine voice echoed in the sewers.

Just as Duke turned to face that direction, a batarang exploded at her feet. The clay that made up her legs solidified, preventing her from moving.

"What have you done with Signal?"

Batgirl barked, determination in her eyes.

"Batgirl, it's me! It's Duke! Duke Thomas! Signal!"

She gestured to herself.

"Duke...?"

How else would she know Signal's real name?

"Tell me something only Duke would know."

"You're Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner Gordon? Joker shot you in the spine..."

Babs' eyes narrowed. She wasn't fond of her secret identity being put out there so brazenly, even if they were seemingly alone in the sewer.

"Okay, okay, I believe you."

Babs put her hands up.

"But what did he do to you?! Why are you... made of clay... and a woman?"

Duke sighed, struggling to find the right words.

"I came down here to capture Clayface and he got the better of me," Duke explained.

"He somehow managed to turn me into this clay form. I don't know why he chose to make me a woman. Maybe to humiliate me?"

"There's nothing humiliating about being a girl, Duke. But go on."

Babs folded her arms.

"I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I think he wanted a pawn to help him commit crimes in Gotham."

Batgirl's eyes widened in alarm.

"We need to find a way to reverse this. Duke, you can't stay like this. It's too dangerous."

Duke nodded, a clay tear forming in the corner of her eye.

"I know, but we have to find Clayface first. He's the only one who can change me back."

"I'm not so sure it's a good idea to hunt down Clayface right now. If he turned you into... this... he can likely do the same to others. We should head back and make a plan with Batman. He'll know what to do."

The last thing they needed was Clayface building an army of clay-made henchmen.
