What's next?
On Becoming a God
"You what?" Piper asked incredulously, almost shouting.
"I'm going to become a god." I said calmly.
That was followed by another silence. We were back in Camp Half-Blood, in my office at the Big House. Annabeth and Piper were sitting opposite to me when I broke the news to them.
"But... it's impossible. For now at least. To become a god, you have to get the complete approval of the Olympian council. And you only have one Olympian under you right now." Piper said, in the safety of my office, which was covered in spells so that no one was able to eavesdrop.
"There is another way." I said. "You know all about that, right Wise Girl?"
Annabeth crunched her nose. It was evident that she was not the biggest fan of my plan. "It's all theoretical. Something not worth risking your self over."
"What's all theoretical?" Piper demanded. Usually, she would never talk to me in such a way, but being concerned for my life makes her forget her manners, which I think is really cute.
"You know that the gods need prayers and burned offerings to sustain themselves right?" I asked.
Piper nodded. "That's our way of showing the gods we remember them. And gods exist only as long as they exist in our collective memory. The memory of Greece and her gods are strong among people still, so the Greek gods are still strong." Piper said, reciting the stuff that all demigods learn when they join the camps.
Nodding I said, "And when people don't believe in a certain god, they fade from existence. That happened to a lot of minor deities. And just a couple of years ago to the wild god Pan."
"Ok so if people don't believe in gods they die out." Piper said. "Like Tinkerbell. But how does that affect when one is trying to become a god?"
"Well," I said, lacing my fingers together. "If it's possible for a god to fade because a certain amount of people forget about him, wouldn't it mean that it's technically possible for a mortal to become a god if a certain number of people believe him to be one?"
Another silence filled the room. Piper spluttered. "Well... I mean... maybe?"
"It's just a theory." Annabeth said. "We have no guarantee that it will work. No offense master."
"It's just a theory," I agreed. "But nothing bad will happen if we try it out?"
"How are you going to even try it out?" Piper asked. "Has this ever been even tried before?"
"Actually yes," I said. "One person did try to become a god this way."
"Who?"
"Caligula."
Piper slapped a hand into her forehead. "The crazy Roman guy? That's the person whose footsteps you are going to follow?"
"He wasn't crazy," I said, a bit defensively. "That's what modern historians call him because they don't know that all these gods and stuff are real. But he knew, and he wanted to be one. Many of the actions he took as emperor was to make this a reality, though modern historians call them acts of insanity."
"What did he do?" Annabeth, ever the Wise Girl, asked.
"Oh all sorts of stuff. He began to dress up like a god. He cut off the heads of statues of gods in Rome and replaced them with his head, so that when people prayed they were **** to think of him. Caligula seemed particularly interested in becoming the new Apollo. Heck, even his title, 'Neos Helios' meant the 'New Sun.' Then he had a really brilliant idea: to move to Egypt. A place where people genuinely worshipped their rulers as gods, and where worshipping the sun god was the most important religious practice. Had he been actually able to do that, Caligula really would have become a god, I think."
"Had he been able to do that? Would have become?" Piper asked.
I shrugged. "Before he was actually able to do that, a couple of people who fortunately figured out his end game assassinated Caligula before it was too late."
Piper groaned and buried her head in her hands.
I stood up and walked over to her, keeping my hands on her shoulders. "Tell me Pipes. Has a plan of mine ever failed?"
She shook her head.
"Neither will this one. But to do it properly, I need my little sluts by my side. Will you be there for me then?"
Piper looked at me with her multicoloured eyes for a long time. Then, getting on her toes, she kissed my cheeks. "Of course, master."
I grinned. "Good girl. Now go out and bring Thalia to me. We have work to do."
Thalia entered while scowling at Annabeth and Piper. "You know master. I might have become a slut of yours later than these two, but I'm just as trustworthy."
I smiled and stood up. "I know. And I have a very important task for you to do."
"You do?" Thalia asked, brightening up instantly.
"Yes," I said, guiding her into a chair. "Sleep."
Thalia fell into the chair in a hypnotic trance. I sat down in front of her and Piper and Annabeth flanked me while standing, curious to see what happens next.
"Thalia. Can you here me?" I asked.
"Yes master."
I decided to get to the meat of the matter. "Tell me Thalia, do you know who I am?"
"Yes master."
I groaned. I had forgotten how precisely I had to talk when speaking with a person under hypnosis. "Can you tell me who I am?"
"You are my master."
I smiled. If she said that in hypnosis, then that means she really does mean it. Of course, I already knew that, but further confirmation was nice.
I shook my hand and concentrated on the issue at hand. "Yes, but wo am I?"
"You are... Raj?"
I nodded, satisfied, before moving into the second line of questioning. "Open your eyes, Thalia."
She did so. It was a bit creepy seeing Thalia's electric blue eyes look so empty under hypnosis, but I continued, picking up a picture that I had laid before me. I held the picture in front of Thalia. "Do you know who this is Thalia? Can you tell me who it is?" I asked. I was holding a picture of an ancient Greek statue depicting Hypnos, with wings in his face and everything.
"That's Hypnos." Thalia said.
"Wrong."
"Wha-?"
I kept a leg on Thalia's leg to stop her. I put all the power I had accumulated into my voice. "I am Hypnos. I am the god of sleep. This guy right here?" I said, holding up the picture. "Forget him. I am the new good of sleep. The new Hypnos, and the last, and the only. Do you understand?"
Thalia nodded very slowly as her brain, memories and thoughts began to rewrite itself, but each nod had more and more conviction. Piper started grinning, but me and Annabeth knew that the real test was after she had woken up. So I woke her up.
Thalia looked around, blinking and confused. "What happened?" her eyes focused on me. "You wanted something from me master?"
"Yes, I have a question for you. Who am I?"
"You are my master."
I smiled, hearing that answer once again. "Care to elaborate?"
Thalia shrugged. "You are my master. Raj. Director of Camp Half-Blood. The god of sleep. Oh." At the last sentence, Thalia's mouth opened in surprise.
"What is it?" I asked tensing up.
"Well... I guess I never completely realized that you are a god." Thalia said with a shaky laugh. "It's kinda weird."
I returned her smile, knowing that my plan had worked. "What's so weird about it?"
"Well me fucking some thousands of years old man for starters."
I grinned. "Oh so am I an old man now?"
"That's what you are accused of," Thalia said as her hand snaked up my thigh. "Unless you can prove otherwise." She said, grinning impishly as her hand began to stroke the outline of my cock.
I laughed, but removed her hand. "Not now little slut. Daddy has work to do. But tonight, I promise. Now go fetch me Hazel and Jason."
Once Thalia was out of earshot, Piper whooped. "It worked!"
I grinned at her, though Annabeth still looked a bit worried. "What's the problem?"
"Are you sure you want to do this? I mean, you will live longer than an average mortal, but what if one day you passed away from human memory too?"
"Don't worry Annie. This is just the first step. I have made more plans to make my immortality... everlasting."
"Of course you did," Annabeth said, grinning after a long time. "You asked for both Jason and Hazel. Have you ever tried to hypnotize two people at once?"
"No. But we have to make everyone in Camp Half-Blood, Camp Jupiter and Arty and all her whores to believe that I'm the new god of sleep, and I can't afford to do them all one by one. I'll start with two, then three, four and on and on until we find the maximum number that I can hypnotize at once."
Annabeth sighed. "We got our work cut out for us then?"
"Unfortunately so."
Annabeth smiled mischievously before going and standing near Piper. "But before that... I feel like me and Piper should congratulate you on becoming a new god." Then, as if they had rehearsed for it, Annabeth and Piper took off their shirts at the same time, revealing me their glorious tits. I grinned.
