What Historical Elseworld shall we follow?

Old West Logan

(Authors' note: Anyone who follows me know I tend to enjoy writing girl-girl stories. For this, I wanted to do something a little less sex-centric and more story based. I'll get to the good stuff eventually -- this site is built for that, after all -- but I wanted to do something a little different. And yes, I'm sure I'll write a lesbian scene or several at some point. But be warned -- this story is more plot heavy and less *plot* heavy.)

Arizona

1880

"You really think you're gonna get away with this? I work for Wilson Fisk! Once he finds out you've stuck your nose in his business, he'll destroy you... and everything you love!"

Logan struck his bounty, neatly tied to the back of his horse, and knocked him out. "Yeah, yeah. Heard it all before, bub."

It was an easy job, one Logan had done so many times before. A member of some run of the mill gang of bandits -- Logan had already forgotten the name, and didn't care at all to remember it. All he cared to do was deliver his bounty to Sheriff Fury and drink his reward away at the Hellfire Saloon.

Besides, he'd endured worse than anything Fisk could do to him. He recalled the group he used to run with -- his brother, Dog. Maverick. Kestrel. Elefante. Sabretooth. Silver Fox. Those were times he wished he could forget -- he'd never fully escape the guilt of the things he'd done with them. One thing Logan didn't regret, however, was meeting Silver Fox, the love of his life. He recalled trying to leave the group with her, hoping to build a better life together -- the rest of the group didn't take kindly to the couple's resignation, however, and made him watch as Sabretooth killed Silver Fox and beat him relentlessly, leaving him for dead afterwards.

If nothing else, though, Logan was a survivor. He tracked down the other members of his old gang, and one by one, he picked them off, leaving their bloodied corpses for the others to discover. It all came to a head when Logan & Sabretooth, Victor Creed, fought for the final time, culminating in Logan knocking Sabretooth into a gorge. He searched and searched afterwards, but found no sign of him, alive or dead; It had been years -- decades -- since that day, but Logan could never shake the feeling he'd eventually run into Sabretooth again. When he did, though, he'd finish the job he'd started so long ago.

Logan arrived in the town of Excelsior and immediately headed towards the sheriff's office. He slung the **** bandit over his shoulder and walked in, where deputy Maria Hill was waiting. "Logan. Hope you didn't rough this one up too much -- we're still trying to get more info on Fisk."

"He can still talk if that's what you're askin'," Logan answered. "In fact, the jackass wouldn't shut up all the way here. S'why I knocked him out."

Maria glared at Logan, arms crossed. "Uh-huh. Well, let's hope he wakes up. Last thing we need is one of Fisk's lackeys bleeding out while we're interviewing them."

"There's a reason Fury keeps hirin' me, Hill. I'm the best at what I do. I may rough up my bounties, but I'll deliver 'em alive when you ask. If you don't like it, you could hire Wade Wilson instead."

Hill sighed and conceded, "Lord no. Wilson may get the job done, but he's a goddamn lunatic. Fine, you've made your point."

"Good. Now you can give me my payment and I'll be on my way."

Maria handed Logan a stack of bills. "Here. I take it you'll be heading to the Hellfire Saloon now? Maybe a house of ill repute?"

"None a'your business," Logan snorted.

"Fair enough. If you're looking for a little extra cash, the Xavier Ranch is hiring hands. Hear the owner pays really well, too. Might be a nice change of pace from bounty hunting," Hill suggested.

Logan nodded in acknowledgement before dismissing Hill's recommendation. "Appreciate the suggestion, but I'm a bounty hunter, not a ranch hand."

"In any case, you may want to stick around -- Fury's going to have bounties for you real soon."

Logan turned and walked out of the office after counting his reward. "I'll keep that in mind... see you soon, Hill."
