Chapter 44 by Fitshace Fitshace

What's next?

Oh yeah, those new powers

Eventually, they had to get cleaned up and dressed. Both were **** to of course, but Adeline made an excellent point. “It’s not even noon and you’ve fucked me three times already and got me pregnant. Much as I hate to admit it, I think we can both afford to do something else for a bit.” He knew that if he ordered her to, she’d be back in bed, or on the desk, or on the floor, or wherever he wanted her, immediately. That was where she wanted to be, wherever he wanted her. But she was right. They were also still not at a point where they could afford to be discovered and had already pushed their luck. So, after a bit of very passionate making out, Vel watched the self-proclaimed mother of his firstborn leave his room.

His bed felt empty now that he was all alone. In the last few days, he’d grown pretty used to having company. What to do now? Something pushed at his mind, like a little nudge. What? OH! The new powers! He’d been so busy trying to knock up his twin sister, he had completely forgotten about the new techniques Seph had gifted him. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to examine them.

The first one was called fracture and was, compared to what he knew so far, aggressive. It was an attack on a wall or membrane, but not one intending to destroy or fully breach it, just one intended to cause crack that the mindmage could then exploit. Despite how it sounded, this could apparently be done without the target’s notice. There were some clear limits though. Using it more than once or twice on the same target in a short amount of time risked causing discomfort and potentially alerting the target. Further, these cracks did not last long, as the mind sought to heal itself. What were these cracks good for? The emotions of a cracked mind would be easier to identify and read. This was not really an issue for him, as his god given proficiency had allowed him to do that flawlessly with most minds anyway. The notable exceptions being his parents. They just couldn’t help but give him grief. Predictably, it would also make a mind more susceptible to probe, as well as ensuring the probe returned faster. Through the cracks, one could also do some limited thought reading with feeling. The effectiveness of this seemed conditional on a plethora of factors though. Mostly the usual suspects. Closeness, trust, mental fortitude, the power and skill of the mindmage and so on. Lastly, it allowed for the use of suggestion.

Unsurprisingly, the next technique he had been gifted was called suggestion. This was only usable on a mind that was either cracked, breached, broken or open. It grew more effective as one moved along those categories too. Suggestion allowed the mindmage to implant thoughts or ideas into the mind of a target. Finally, he had been looking forward to this. As always though, there were limitations. First of all, the usual stuff about closeness and trust and some minds being more or less suggestible. But it was also the case that, the less likely the target was to have such a thought or idea naturally, the less likely they were to accept it. The closer it corresponded to their values and beliefs, the better. As such, framing these ideas or thoughts in a way that would resonate with the target was the real skill when it came to the use of suggestion. It might also take some time for suggestions to take root or be accepted, and reinforcing the same one multiple times would sometimes be necessary and pretty much always a good idea.

Up next was ****, and this one was simply a brute **** attack on a target’s mind. The knowledge came with a lot of warnings. First, if one used this, the target would notice. Being on the receiving end was painful. That seemed to be the technique’s purpose, causing pain. It could lead to fractures, but if one wanted to achieve that, one should just use fracture. On an already fractured mind, however, it could cause considerably more pain. It was not capable of breaching membranes but could be used to attack walls. However, due to its unfocused brute **** nature, it wasn't the best tool for taking down walls. Doing so would require a lot of power. Another warning cautioned against using it on fully breached minds, as the results would likely be ****.

Lastly, there was command. This was of course a technique he had already used, but he was grateful to have more information about it. Command was what mindmages termed and external technique. Meaning that it did not need entry into a subject’s mind to take effect, and things such as fractures or breaches did little to enhance its effectiveness. This was because it worked by overpowering the external senses of a target and relaying the command through those. The main deciding factor for the successful use of command was the mindmage’s raw power. Other things factored into though. The conviction with which it was delivered, the subject’s willpower, and how likely they were to obey both the command and the mindmage to begin with all played a part. It also came with a warning that it was a very demanding power to use, and repeated use would quickly drain the reserves of most mindmages.

Vel was pleased, these seemed to him like very useful tools indeed. He couldn’t wait to try them. He remembered how brittle Dina’s membrane had felt, he got the sense it would be an excellent target for fracture. Dina would likely be a prime candidate for **** too, for that matter. Suggestion opened up a whole host of possibilities. He obviously had no need to use it on Adi, but perhaps she would want him to, and it could be good practice. He’d rather not permanently alter anything about his perfect twin sister though. Rose then, her mind was open to him at least to some degree, suggestion should work well. Perhaps he could make her more accepting of the idea of him fucking his sisters. That would be good.
