Chapter 13 by Dr. West Dr. West

What's next?

Oh how the turntables

Gin stared deeply into the glass as it was presented to her. A glass half empty with the cure to all her suffering. But Gin wasn't in search of a reprieve.

"You know, I've come to realise I'm probably never going to win against you, Belial. Every day it's just a pointless struggle, every day I lose a little more, and a little more. Take a corpse from a cemetary and a cemetary it remains. Take another, and it's still a cemetary. At what point, if you keep taking and taking, does it cease becoming a cemetary? One if these days you'll get me, it's a fate I've resigned to... but you're going to have to try a little harder than this," Gin spoke into the glass.

Her eyes turned back to the redhead identified as Belial, then shook her head in defiance.

"You insult me," she added, then flipped the table with her hands. The glass soared through the air, slapping Belial on the face and letting the milk gush out into her eyes.

"Ah, gross," she said, pulling up her dress to wipe her eyes.

Gin took the opportunity to grab her sword and run, but Belial recovered quickly. She was still blinded by the milk, but she was not the one who was going to try and stop Gin, it was.

She fiddled around with her purse and unzipped it before throwing it on the ground. Once it hit the ground, the purse began to take on a life of its own, stretching and opening wide enough to be able to swallow a person whole. Inside was a horrorshow.

Hundreds of tentacles writhed within, and they didn't take long in shooting out in pursuit of Gin.

Catching her new assailant, Gin swing around and slashed through several of them as they tried to descend upon her, but there were simply too many.

Just as her hand reached the door, one of the slithering appendages ensnared her leg and whisked her onto the ground.

Her sword was dropped to the ground in the struggle, clanging sharply against the floor. Without it, Gin was at its mercy. More tentacles began to coil around her. There was little she could do as they began to lift her off the ground, suspending her in the air.

It swung her body like a ragdoll after that. First into the ceiling, then the floor, this pattern repeated until it looked like the fight was taken out of her.

Ojce that was accomplished, it began to drag her along the floor, intending to drag her straight into that purse.

In the corner of her eye, Gin saw her katana, and her twitching hand desperately tried to reach for it.

"Well, Gin? Would you consider this trying a little harder?" Belial asked with a laugh.

What's next?
