Chapter 12 by Gilly53 Gilly53

Welcome to dinner

Off you go!

You hurry out of your room into the hallway, and immediately realise you don't actually know where you're going. This house is... huge.

As you wonder where a "main" dining room would be located - and wait, does that mean this house has several? - you see a woman coming towards you down the hall.

As she comes closer you take a good look at her. She's tiny, waifish, with long golden blonde hair, smooth pale skin and enormous baby blue eyes. She looks young - maybe your age?

"Hello there!" She smiles at you, her voice soft. "My name is Angelica. I'm one of the tenants here at Wynnifer Place. I came to fetch you for dinner, if you're interested - we thought you might get lost here. And we're all excited to meet you!"

You're relieved that someone has come - and that she's so young. Maybe you'll make a friend here, and that's a comforting thought!

You follow her down the hallway and several more, peering about the place as you go. Angelica occasionally points out rooms - the library, the piano room, the blue room...? You promise yourself you'll explore properly tomorrow.

Before you know it she's pushing open the double doors to a large dining room with a long table running horizontal across the room, and several people are looking at you.

You spot Aunt Lydia at the head of the table on your left, smiling at you, and beckoning to the empty seat on her right. You're conscious of how you look - probably still flushed from your impromptu orgasm not 5 minutes ago - but you quickly make your way to the table and sit next to her.

You look around the table curiously, just as Aunt Lydia introduces you to everyone as her niece and "new member of the family". It feels a little odd, but you're pleased to be accepted so readily.

"Now, darling, meet everyone!" Aunt Lydia turns to you with a smile.

"You've already met Angelica - she's just the most lovely woman, and she was our very first tenant. She works for the family, running this house." Angelica, who has sat down in the empty seat next to you, smiles.

"This over here" Aunt Lydia points to the young man with dark hair and chocolate eyes on her left "is Zahir. He's a film major, just a few years older than you!"

He's handsome, you note. Zahir winks at you and you feel yourself blush, as you quickly move on to the next person, a tall, lithe woman with silky black hair and sharp cheekbones.

"Next to him you'll find Ji-A, who recently joined us from Korea. She's also in college, as an art major - she's incredibly talented, you'll be amazed when she shows you her work!"

The woman smiles, her sharp face immediately softening.

"You're too kind as always, Lydia. And" she turns to you "you can call me J. Pleasure to meet you."

"Likewise." You say, just as Aunt Lydia moves down the table.

"The grumpy gentleman down that way is Axel - he's a lawyer, don't take his scowl personally. I won't tell you he's a ray of sunshine deep down because he isn't, but we do adore him anyway." There's laughter around the table as Axel, an icy blonde man with the palest blue eyes you've ever seen, raises a single eyebrow. He's older than the other three - mid forties, you'd guess.

"Now, right across from Axel you'll find Polly - she's our resident tech wizard, mathematician, and all around genius. She works for the house and moonlights as a hacker, but we don't ask questions..." Aunt Lydia winks at Polly, who's a curvy black woman you'd guess in her 30's with horn-rimmed cat eye glasses. Polly grins back, clearly used to this intro.

"Next we have Damon, our resident gardener and also our chef." Aunt Lydia points to a man who may be in his late twenties, with light brown hair, a sharp jawline and green eyes. "He's a wizard with plants - you'll have a chance to check our grounds tomorrow, and I'm sure he'd be happy to give you a tour of the kitchen!" Damon gives you a small wave and a smile, which you hesitantly return.

"And finally!" Aunt Lydia announces, "at the head of the table you'll find my delightful husband, light of my life, Jackson. He's quiet, unless you have a passion for jazz in which case he can talk your ears off. He's a surgeon, he's often at work, but we try and have dinner together whenever we can anyway." She smiles in a way that makes it obvious she thinks he hung the moon.

You take a minute to study Jackson, the hear of the house. He's massive - "built like a brick house" comes to mind - with dark skin and hair buzzed short. He must be in his fifties, but he looks younger, his arms corded with muscles if the way his shirt is clinging to him is any indication.

"Welcome to the house" he rumbles, his voice shockingly deep. "Lydia's family is our family. Make yourself at home."

And just like that, you've met them all. This, you think dazedly, is your new home.

But... what about your condition...?
