Off To Work

"Have a good day at work!"

They waved goodbye watching the van leave. Melfina sighed but smiled. "It feels... odd not having them here." She turned to Hilda and the Dorothy. "Well... what do you two have planned today?"

Hilda nodded. "I think I shall see about attending to our growing garden. Hopefully those planters we ordered will arrive."

Dorothy nodded as well. "I intend to assist with that once I finish assisting you Melfina in the kitchen. The new appliances and upgrades for the home should come today. We need to move as many things out of the way as possible to make it easier for the work crews to remove the old things and install the new ones."

Melfina nodded. "Once they get started I'm not sure what we'll be able to do. Let's work hard until that point in time."

All three of them nodded.

"I hope they'll be alright at home by themselves for the day," Dave said as he drove.

Tink laughed. "You know you're likely worrying for nothing. Pepper's "with" them and all three are capable on their own way. And with Cat and 3S gaurding the place they can't get into too much trouble. The three of us are just a quick call away if they need advice on anything too."

Dave nodded and smiled. "Yeah. I suppose you're right. It's just been the three of us at home and work together all the time... we never left anyone waiting at home before."

Tink smiled. "We ain't had anyone waiting for us to return home to in a longtime either. Not since moving out. It's kind of nice knowing that someone's waiting for us." She looked at Harley. "Right?"

"Yeah, I guess... that's one of the reasons we got them after all," Harley said looking out the window.

Dave taised an eyebrow. "You aren't still mad are you?"

"No," Harley snapped... then sighed. "No," she said quieter and even smiled a bit. She reached in her pocket to pull out Harleen's glasses. "I'm not actually mad... I was irritated... but as irritating as it was it sure got the blood pumping. I ain't been this wake in the mornings in a longtime. Still..."

Dave smiled and nodded. "We'll sleep in on our next days off. No big wake up call. Especially since you and I "worked" through this weekend. Tink had to too considering all the things that needed doing around the new home. We split up but it was still a team effort and thank goodness Mel's such a good hard worker!"

Tink nodded. "Yup. Hilda too and Dorothy hit the ground running as well. Ain't no slackers in this bunch! And speaking of.. "

Harley nodded and slipped her glasses on stepping into her "role" as Harleen. "Cracking the whip before we even get there?" She smiled. "Yes, I see it Tink. Another customer requesting an appointment consultation."

Dave perked up. "Oh? What kind?Alterations, modifications, fusions and creation or purchasing and assessment/advice?"

Harley smiled. "Alterations and consultation. Custom alterations infact. Three female characters. All from television series. Two from a Fantasy and one from a sitcom."

Dave smiled. "I see. Well from what I remember we don't have a lot of clients scheduled this week so far. Just the two you told me about on Friday and our own jobs."

Tink gave him a look. "And that big 3S order for your father... if you're not busy with new clients and our own projects you need to keep working on those!"

Dave rolled his eyes but nodded. "Yeah, okay. I hear you! And you're totally right. Gotta get started on his latest batch of crazy fusions." He blinked. "Wasn't there something else? It feels like I'm forgetting something momentarily."

Tink nodded. "You are. We got notified as winners of the raffle remember? We got some unknown characters RealDreams wants to surprise us with."

"That's right!" He said. "I hadn't forgotten completely. Wait what will they do if we're "not at home" when they send them? Send them to work?"

Tink nodded. "They're like those old "you may already be a winner" people. They won't deliever unless there's a sure thing. They want to get their publicity clip one way or another."

"I still wonder who we'll get!" Harleen said excitedly. "You were right yesterday. The odds are good they're females but other than the "spooky" and "back to school" themes we got no idea."

Dave sighed. "Well I just hope they'll be good fits whoever they are. Random encounter."

Tink grinned and shrugged. "It'll all work out somehow. If they're bad fits we can trade them in. It's RealDreams so they want their happy publicity sound bite and handshake moment. I read through the fine print. The returns bit are pretty generous. There's a nice little grace period and the value of the character or characters can be be valued at a 60% credit to be applied to your account. Of course the value drops if they're returned "used" or "damaged" and if you go beyond the grace period you have to sell them either yourself or through a dealership."

Dave nodded turning onto the street that would take them towards downtown and work. "Guess we'll have to wait and see." He always tried to be the first one at work and set a good example. Still... "We'll be pretty early at this rate. Let's check in on Midna and Midnight/Twilight and maybe start work on the mental scenarios for either Kaska or Saki if there's time before opening."

Tink nodded. "I'll set up an interview appointment time for Mister Wags's consultation along with the other two for the Dragon Ball and Teen Titans fusions and look in on our other patients."

Harleen nodded. "Right cause you haven't met these Midna and Mid-Twi yet. I'll handle them after setting up the machine for you, Puddin', er, ahem. 'Mr Stark'." Harleen corrects herself with a wink.

Dave smiled. "Alright sounds like a plan. Let's hit the ground running."
