Chapter 7
by The-Drunken-Bandit
Does she take the offer?
Of course she does...
A chance to escape the never-ending stupidity of her world? As well as the ability to her ever get away from her annoying ass brother and his asinine obsession with Zim? With the added bonus of being able to play an infinite number of video games?
How could Gaz possibly resist?
Four after a short while of pondering your words and your offer, Gaz quickly shakes your hand in agreement. All the while, Gaz does something that she rarely ever does, as you can see, the purple haired gamer girl give you a toothy smile as she shakes your hand.
“A chance to escape the overwhelming stupidity of both my home and of my idiot brother? As well as all the games I could ever want? Hell, yes, I’m in.” Gaz tells you as she widens her eyes momentarily from their usual squint, allowing you to see the absolutely hungry look within her chocolate colored irises.
“Great! Great. I give me one second to call Joey up here to give you your contract of employment, and we can get started.” You tell Gaz with relief look on your face as you let go of her hand and take your helmet back from your old friend. However, at the mention of your manservant/secretary, Gaz raises a single brow in questioning before questioning you.
“Who?”
“Joey, my personal manservant/secretary, he’s one of the mouse men that I created to help me in my goal bringing peace to the multiverse.” You explain to Gaz as you put your helmet back on and twisted back into place with a hiss, as your power armor re-pressurizes itself. After putting on your helmets, you immediately send a message to your manservant down below and order him to prepare the necessary papers. However, your explanation to your old friend only brings up more questions.
“Mouse men? What, are you telling me you made an entire army of Skaven to be your minions? You do remember how dangerous the Skaven are right?” Gaz questions as she brings up the very after mentioned race of anthropomorphic Ratmen that were not only highly paranoid but extremely treacherous. At the mention of the very famous and extremely hostile race, you shake your head and bring your hands up in defense as you explain further.
“No, no, no, no, no… Mouse men, Gaz, mouse men, not Ratmen, mouse men.” You deny rather adamantly to the purple haired gamer girl. To which Gaz can only cross her arms and respond with a gruff questioning apply.
“Mouse men, Rat men, what’s the difference?” You shake your head slightly at Gaz’s question and elaborate further. As you do so, you also begin to re-atomize something from your Pip watch’s personal inventory.
“Simple really, mouse men are far more mentally stable and are also far more loyal than the Skaven. Also, they don’t have faces that look like somebody threw acid on them.” You explain to your new Gothic Hench as the object that you were re-atomizing from your Pip watch appears in your hands.
The object in question was two large red gauntlets, the gauntlets themselves were smooth and round and looked more akin to something that belonged on an old anime mecha.
These were the gauntlets of the brawler, an extremely powerful weapon that you designed and created yourself. At the sight of these gauntlets, Gaz raised a single eyebrow in questioning as she stared at the rather simple looking weapon.
“What is that?” Gaz questioned as she stared at the rather simple looking piece of hardware.
“The gauntlets of the brawler, a personal creation of mine designed for close quarters combat. I originally created this for my own personal use, but knowing you and your fighting style, I think they would be best used by you.” You explain as you offer them to her, but Gaz doesn’t really seem to care as she dismisses the rather simple looking gauntlets.
“Really? This is what you want me to go out into the multi-verse with? A pair of metal gloves?” Gas asks rather sarcastically as she picks up one of the rusty red metal gauntlets and begins to look them over. At Gaz’s dismissal of the weapon, you shake your head and explain further.
“There more than just simply metal gloves Gaz, I built them with the sole purpose in mind of being able to get close and personal with whoever your fighting. As such, I built a multitude of different features into it; one of the said features is the ability to launch one your hands out and pull them back towards you. Another is the ability to make the gauntlets expand becoming bigger and more damaging. However, one of the most important abilities that the gauntlets offer is the ability to respawn here back at the base in case the worst were to happen.” You explain the Gaz, which does change Gaz’s perception of the gauntlets.
“They do all that, huh, Neat,” Gaz mutters as she begins to put on the metal gauntlets, which reach up just before her elbows and begin to automatically adjust to her smaller size till they fit rather snuggly. However, they suddenly glow with a light red color before shrinking down into two red metal bands that take the place of her leather armbands.
At the sudden change of the gauntlets into armbands, Gaz looks at you in questioning, to which you explain.
“That is the gauntlets inactive state; they will change back on your command.” You explain to Gaz as the elevator door suddenly open, revealing your manservant Joey holding a digital pad.
“Sir, I've got the thing. Oh, h-hello.” Joey says as he walks into the room before stuttering slightly as he greets Gaz, who just stares at him silently. To which Joey glups a little bit at the rather hostile vibe that Gaz naturally gives off. However, you simply wait for this off and get up and walk over to your mouse manservant.
“Ah, don’t worry about her, Joey; that’s just how Gaz is.” You tell your Mouse servant as you take the pad out of his hands.
“A-are you sure sir? S-she s-seems rather… H-hostile.” Joey stutters as he looks at Gaz who simply growls at him at his comment frightening the poor mouse man even further. As Joey nervously gulps, you simply wave off his concerns and guide him back to the elevator.
“I’m sure Joey, now don’t worry, despite Gaz’s hard exterior, she is rather nice to know her. Now, head back down and get ready we're about to get really busy.” You tell your mouse servant as he re-enters the elevator. However, as you mentioned Gaz is niceness you can hear her growl behind you, much to Joey's dismay though this changes as you mention the fact that you’re about to embark on your grand conquest of the cartoon multi-verse, as your mouse servant nods and stands rather confidently before you as the elevator doors close.
“I understand sir, when your ready, we will be ready.” Joeys tells you as the elevator doors close. With the document now in hand, you merely turn around to hand it over to Gaz, only to find that she’s right behind you and has a rather angry look on her face. As her face is flushed red and her face is set into a deep scowl.
“I. Am. Not. Nice!” Gaz growls out as she stands in front of you. However, you remain unaffected by Gaz anger as thanks to your time spent with her before; you’ve just simply brushed it off and handed Gaz the digital pad.
“So you keep telling yourself Gaz. Anyway, here you go.” As Gaz yanks the pad out of your and hand begins to read the contents of it, you can see the anger on her face change to confusion.
“A contract of employment?” Gaz asks in confusion as she opens one of her usually squinted eyes in questioning. At Gaz’s question, you simply shrug and explain.
“What? You didn’t think I wasn’t going to pay you? Did you?” At your question, Gaz stays staring at you for a second before turning back to the digital document and begins to skim its contents.
“Free room and board, full health and dental, vacation days, and a weekly paycheck of… Huh, that’s more than that what dad gets.” Gaz mutters aloud as she begins to go through the contents of the digital document.
Well while Gaz learns her many new responsibilities and different benefits, it’s time that you began to dive deep and start your quest to bring balance to the multi-verse!
The only question is…
Where do you begin?
