You start typing, delete your message, type again, delete again. It takes you a few tries before you see that Krista is typing too. Her message pops up before you’ve managed to say anything.

“Look if you don’t want to talk about it, then we don’t have to. I can just pretend I didn’t see anything, or you can say that it wasn’t you if that works better. I wont ask anything else.”

“Also! I get paid three times this month, so I have more money than usual. So how about you come over and I’ll get take out, I just got the new Wet Saber game and we should definitely play.”

You breathe a sigh of relief, Krista was your best friend for a reason after all.

“Sorry, left my phone at home. I’d love to come over and get away from my mom for a bit. I’ll tell you about it there.” you hit send.

A few moments later she responds

“All good Ev, see you here. Anytime after seven works for me.”

“See you then,” you respond.
