Of course, how else will the story continue

"Eh screw it." You thought to yourself as you pulled out your wallet, and with it the 60 dollars the man asked for. You would be getting a Christmas bonus soon anyway so what's the harm in a bit of a splurge. It'll be an early Christmas gift.

The peddler eagerly took your money, stashing it into a drawer before handing you the box with the locket inside.

"Be careful friend! With great power comes great responsibility as they say!"

"Yeah, sure. I'll keep that in mind." You said with a bit of a roll in your eyes, holding the box under your arm as you went back to walking through the flea market.

After you finished your window shopping, it was getting a bit dark out. So you started going home. People were heading in for the night, and you ought to be to. As you were walking, you couldn't help but look at the box under your shoulder. You definitely got scammed, but then again you were still curious. You opened up the box to gaze at the pendent again. It almost looked like it was made out of pure ruby, in the shape of a heart. You never were one for jewelry. But, the words of the peddler were making you consider it. Nobody was around, so, you had nothing to loose.

Taking the pendent out of the box, you look at it closely for a second, before putting it around your neck. Hmm...you feel...you feel...! Nothing. You don't feel any different. Yup, this was definitely a scam. Could've spent those 60 dollars on a new game or something. With a defeated sigh you start to take the pendent off, but you notice it seems stuck. Great did it get stuck on the fabric of your jacket or something?

No...it didn't seem stuck. It just, wouldn't come off. It was like the string was stuck to your neck, keeping it on and preventing you to take it off. Great, you got scammed, AND now you'd have to do some self operating when you get back home. Gonna be painful getting this off, your sure. However as your cursing yourself for your dumb purchase, you felt as though it suddenly got a lot darker. The moon and stars seemed to have vanished from the sky all of a sudden, in a dark overcast. Odd, it wasn't supposed to snow today.

Then the wind picked up, blowing fast and hard, enough to make you stumble back a bit. Suddenly there was a bright flash, and a bit of a rumble underneath you, blinding you and knocking you around on your feet even more. You felt your body hit against something as you stumbled back, still a bit blinded while rubbing your eyes.

"Ah geeze, I'm sorry-" You said, hoping it was a person and that you didn't just back up into a street light or something. But, upon regaining vision, it didn't look like a person or a street light. It looked like...a leg? You blinked, slowly becoming scared as your gaze turned up, looking at what it was you bumped into.

Staring at the large, black beast in front of you, you can only think of doing one thing.
