Of course!

"Of course," you answer. Hallie gives you a smile and then leads you to her couch. You start off sitting next to each other, but she quickly asks if she can sit on your lap.

"I need someone to hold me right now," Hallie says nervously. "I just... I'm still shaken up about what happened."

"Hey, I understand," you say. "Anyone would be shaken up if that happened to them." Hallie climbs onto your lap, and pulls a blanket over the both of you. You wrap your arms around her, and she nestles herself into your embrace. She eventually falls asleep in your arms, and you spend the night in her apartment.

The next morning, she wakes up before you.

"Good morning, Jake" Hallie says with a yawn. "Thanks for staying with me last night, I really needed that."

"Any time," you say, grinning at her. She makes you breakfast and you both sit down to eat together, talking about work, sports, and TV shows. You consider using the ring to finally see what she looks like naked, but you hold off. I'm going to earn this one, you tell yourself.

"Well, I should get going," you say as you get ready to leave.

"It was nice catching up with you!" Hallie says. "We should do something this weekend."

"Sounds good!" You say. "I'll text you about it later."

Hallie gives you a hug goodbye and you go upstairs to your apartment, feeling excited about what this day may bring.
