Chapter 156 by SG SG

That was a little awkward. Try again?

Of course!

"Hey, Mads," Regina said casually as she sat next to the golem. Madison looked up from her phone and returned the greeting, a slight smile playing across her lips. "How's it going?"

"Can't complain," Madison mumbled as she returned to her phone. Regina paused, thinking about where to take the conversation next.

"So, um. I have- I mean, I'd like to talk about something. With you, I mean." Regina cringed inwardly at her awkward patter, but Madison just put her phone away and prompted her to continue. Regina cleared her throat.

"Ok. Uh, we've been friends a while, right? I've... I mean, I really like our friendship..."

"Christ," Madison said in a gravelly baritone. "Are you dying or something? Where is this shit coming from?"

"No! No, nothing like that." Regina chuckled nervously. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine. No, I mean I wanted to tell you that I- I really like you. As in, I want to go on a date with you."

Madison sat up, her casual slouch replaced with a nervous rigidity. "What?" she asked incredulously. "You want to date me?"

Regina nodded. Madison stared at her in shock for a moment before breaking into laughter. "Holy shit, Gina, you really had me going for a second there! Jesus, don't do that! I thought you actually wanted to go out with me or something!"

Regina laughed nervously and tried to hide her disappointment. "Can you imagine? People would think we've lost our minds! I mean, there are so many reasons it wouldn't work."

"No shit," Madison said, and laid back onto the couch. She spread her arms across the back of cushions and crossed her legs, a goofy smile on her face. "No offense, but that's the stupidest idea I've ever heard."

When Regina's face made it clear that some offense was taken, Madison quickly backpedaled. "No, no, I didn't mean... look, it's not that you're not attractive. Shit, if I met you at a bar for the first time tomorrow I'd charm my way into your pants in less than an hour. But you're like a kid sister to me! Our whole dynamic just isn't romantic at all, you know?"

"You think you could get into my pants that quick?" Regina asked with a smirk.

Madison chuckled as Regina reached for her forehead. "Ok, I'd give it my best shot. But-"

"I laughed at you?" Madison was stunned. "Why would I laugh at you?"

Regina shrugged. "You said I was like a kid sister. You clearly hadn't ever considered me as a partner. I don't know how I'm gonna change that, with you or with Jay."

"I know how to change it," Madison smirked. "And it's not by talking."

Regina sat next to Madison yet again. This time Madison glanced in her direction, then did a double-take.

Gone were her casual jeans and hoodie; Regina wore a tight, low-cut blouse (borrowed from Madison's closet) and a pair of boy shorts. Madison eyeballed her friend for a moment before catching herself and looking back at her phone.

"Hey, Mads," Regina said. Her voice was slightly lower than typical. "You doing ok?"

"Yeah," Madison said, avoiding eye contact. A slight blush crept into her cheeks. "I'm good. You?"

Regina sighed slowly and deliberately before answering. "I'm good. I just have a lot of pent-up energy, you know?"

Madison nodded, still looking away. "Yeah. I get it."

Regina took a moment to stretch, making sure to close her eyes. She felt Madison's gaze fall heavily upon her form and suppressed an urge to smile. When her stretch was complete, she left one hand around Madison's shoulders. The golem jumped slightly at her touch, but did nothing to remove it.

"I'm bored," Regina announced. "I'm sick of staring at screens. I wanna do something... physical."

Madison crossed her legs and coughed. "Wanna shoot some hoops?" she asked lamely. Regina shook her head.

"I don't feel like going out," Regina said. She laid her legs across Madison's lap and reclined against the armrest. "What's a good way to burn some energy without leaving the apartment?"

"Yoga?" Madison asked hoarsely. She shifted under her friend's legs. "Or maybe Pilates?"

Regina laughed throatily. "I said I was bored, dude! I wanna do something fun, not a workout. Although I do have a crick in my neck... how are you at massages?"

"Massages?" Madison's voice pitched up with anxiety. "Uh, I don't know..."

Regina stood in front of Madison and turned around. She sat cross-legged and tilted her head back to address her friend.

"Come on, dude, just a quick massage. Don't be a pussy."

Madison's hands tentatively came down on her shoulders and began to rub. It was a terrible massage, but Regina sighed with performative relief.

"Ahhh, that's better," she said softly. "Mmm, you're pretty good with your hands..."

"Thanks." Madison was growing slightly more comfortable as she kneaded Regina's muscles. "I don't have a lot of experience."

"Really? Could have fooled me," Regina lied. "The only problem is these stupid bra straps keep getting in the way."

She unhooked her bra and pulled it out from under her blouse, eliciting a nervous cough from Madison. She turned to wink at the golem. "Hey, sometimes you gotta just let the girls breathe, right?"

"...right," Madison muttered. "Are you ok, Gina? You're acting really weird."

"I am now," Regina purred. "Ooh, I think you found a knot. Thank you for the massage, Mads. You're a really good friend."

They lapsed into silence for a few minutes, Regina enjoying the massage and Madison trying to hide her growing arousal. Finally, she retracted her arms and declared the massage over. Regina stood and stretched performatively, giving Madison a fantastic view of her ass, and sat next to her friend.

"Your turn," she told Madison. "I owe you one. Here, close your eyes."

Madison did as instructed, jumping slightly when Regina reached out to cradle her face. Regina rubbed slowly across her cheekbones, around her eye sockets, and behind her ears. Madison sighed softly, giving in to the overwhelming relaxing sensation. Her head lolled forward, and she barely noticed when Regina gently propped it up with a kiss.

Looks like Regina found her angle.
