October Faculty Meeting: Mr. Howard asks Leah to stay behind.

The rest of the faculty meeting went as expected--boring and mostly a waste of time. When Mr. Howard dismissed everyone he approached Leah and asked to talk to her in private.

"Sure," Leah assented. "I guess we should go to your office?" she dreaded what he might ask there.

"Oh no," he said looking around to make sure people were drifting out. "Here is fine." He moved toward the central circulation desk and turned to talk to the librarian.

"Mrs. Edward's" he said with a smile that belied his wickedness "Don't worry about locking up, I will make sure its squared away. Thanks for letting us invade here again."

"Oh of course, Mr. Howard." Mrs. Edward's said not entirely eager to leave the school for her more hectic life at home with young children. "I will just be happy when all this construction is finished."

"It shouldn't be long I don't think. Or at least I hope." He tried to soothe her.

"Alrighty--have a good one. See y'all tomorrow!" she said as she grabbed her purse, a tote bag, a baby bag, and what looked like another dozen small items before exiting the library's double doors. Everyone else had fled well before her.

"So....what is this about?" Leah asked suspicious of anything Mr. Howard was up to. Mr. Howard looked around the library, checked the doors, and when he was convinced there was no lingering staff he turned to face her.

"I'm sorry I have been busy all day." He said moving in uncomfortably close "But now that we are alone I thought I could show you something you might want to...check out." The library pun was worse than any dad tier pun on the planet.

"Really?" Leah said fighting back a sickening smile at the poor use of the pun "Here. In the library?"

"You don't want to expand your mind amid all these books?" He said moving closer.

"I think I know what you want to expand." Leah said with disgust.

"Come-on--no one is here. They have all left and the library doors are locked."
