October Faculty Meeting: Leah sat next to Coach Reed (Coach Reed +5, Daniel and Jason -15)

Leah noticed that a few of her male teachers had spots open to sit next to. Leah decided to sit next to Reed . Perhaps she didn't realize that this might alienate the other male teachers a bit. It was a public display of her preference perhaps (or so they might think).

"Is this seat taken?" Leah asked knowing the answer ahead of time.

"Not at all--please." Reed said with a smile.

"Ready to waste our afternoon?" Leah asked with a whisper.

"You mean our unpaid afternoon." Reed said in similar conspiratorial tones. "Remember we are salaried so this ain't extra pay."

"Ugh" Leah groaned as she signed into a sign-in sheet that had been passed along then she handed it to Reed "Very true. Hopefully its short and sweet."

"Like you." Reed said in a hushed voice. Leah shot him a wry smile but before she could respond Mr. Howard's voice boomed out.

"Alright everyone," he said his commanding voice getting everyone's attention "I apologize about the mess in here--they are doing some much needed renovations but its still the best place to meet. I hope everyone had a good Monday. Its the last Monday in October. Hard to believe that we are already so far into the school year."

He paced about addressing everyone like a natural principal. He owned the role well.

"Biggest thing on the agenda in the coming weeks is a reminder that students are not allowed to wear face masks on Halloween. Costumes are alright but they gotta keep their faces uncovered. School safety and all that. Thanksgiving--Ah AP Kenning you wanted to talked about Top Turkey Teacher?"

"Ah thank you." Assistant Principal Kenning in her pixie hair cut stood up and turned to address the room "As you know--every year student council sponsors the Top Turkey Teacher award. This year is no different. Students will bring money that goes to charity and they vote on the best teacher in the school. Of course this is all in good fun but it means a lot to the students and to the community. I'll be sending an email out about it later next week and it will have more of the details. Just remember that money turned in needs to be sent to the officer before the final bell rings. "
