Obviously Yes.

She blinked and looked around. Where was she? She was in an apartment and a man was smiling at her. She smiled back.

"How do you feel?" He asked with some concern.

She took stock of herself. She was sitting on an overstuffed couch across from the man, who was in an easy chair. "Good, I think. Can you tell me where I am?"

He chuckled. "Not that it matters, but you're in my apartment. I'm Jonathan Drake and you're Vanessa Chandler."

Vanessa Chandler. She rolled it over in her mind. It didn't carry any familiarity. "Mr. Drake, what am I doing here?"

"Well, Ms. Chandler, I'll cut to the chase for obvious reasons. I've removed your memory and your ability to form memories. In a matter of seconds you'll have forgotten this whole conversation."

She thought about that. "Then why tell me all of this?"

He grinned. "I'm interested to see how it works. I've never taken anyone's short-term memory before."

"So you've done this before? Have you done this to me before?"

He stood and walked over to sit next to her on the couch. "Even with no memory, you're remarkably perceptive. I've never met you before today."

"And how many times have we had this conversation?" She asked politely.

"This is the first, but it may be the first of many. We'll see how soon I get bored with you." He put a hand on her knee purposefully. She glanced down, but didn't remove it.

"I'm sorry, I seem to be having trouble remembering your name... is this the memory loss you told me about?"

He got a predatory look in his eye. "Memory loss? What memory loss?" She looked at him confusedly.

"I- memory- um, I'm sorry, what about memory loss?" She struggled to remember. "I, um, I think I may have fallen asleep. Who are you?"

He laughed. "Vanessa, I'm your husband, Jonathan! You don't remember me?" He slid his hand up her skirt.

"I don't... my husband? I'm married? Where's my wedding band?" She was even more confused now. Did he say something about having this conversation more than once?

"Shit, right. I guess that didn't work. It's ok, you'll forget all about it soon enough." He turned the TV on and stood to walk out of the room. The TV was showing a Seinfeld rerun.
