Oasis says it's Hysteria, Pregnancy Mania, and not Magic

"Oasis, Ellin, let's go into the conference room. There we can talk in private." Rebecca said stepping up to the sisters.

After a short walk, Rebecca opened the door to the store employee meeting room.

"Please sit down," Rebecca said gesturing to the conference chairs.

Rebecca's mind raced over the situation. Ellin's sister Oasis was a key player in yesterday's events. By getting Oasis out of jail, Luke was able to get Chief Bridges to join the 'Life Binders' coven. Additionally, during their drive back from jail Oasis had shared her encounter with Glinda the Los Angeles Life Coven Leader. This helped Rebecca inform her strategy in facing the L.A. Life Coven. She now owns Oasis some goodwill. After all, Oasis did ask for a job.

"What is going on?" Oasis said picking a chair near the exit.

"All I have done today is get carted around and questioned," Oasis said looking to Ellin and then to Rebecca.

"Fear not my dear, we are here to help. Let me explain. Yesterday a magical group of sorcerers mind-controlled Sunny Day shoppers to become parents. Now the victims of yesterday's magical event can't remember the magic involved. You were at the mall yesterday. However, you got away without being transformed into a pregnant love-struck teen like Clare." Rebecca said walking around the table.

"Oasis, I was able to save you from a sticky situation yesterday. Afterward, you shared your run-in with the sorcerers. Sadly, as close as we became as friends it didn't last. It was assumed that you wouldn't remember anything about magic. And therefore wouldn't remember details around magic like our involvement, Rebecca said pointing to Ellin and herself.

"Anyway, in light of this, you said you were willing to be questioned to see what the sorcerers made you forget, once they wiped your mind," Rebecca said coming to stand at the head of the table.

"So today, we want to do exactly that. Ellin will ask you questions. Afterward, you can ask any questions of your own. Do not hold back, we want to be transparent. But understand Ellin will not answer questions that might endanger you or us. " Rebecca said gesturing to Ellin.

Oasis watched her pregnant sister take out a notebook.

"Alrighty I will leave you to it," Rebecca said with a smile.

"Please excuse me, I have to return to my employees. When you finish exchanging questions please return to the break room. Ellin, remember to avoid sharing dangerous information. Oasis, thank you for your help yesterday, I hope we can help you today," Rebecca said nodding her head.

With that, Rebecca walked out of the room.

"I have a lot of basic questions to review. We need to discover what memories were changed by the sorcerers." Oasis said clicking her pen.

Ellin and Oasis chatted for nearly an hour.

"I've had enough. I hear what you're saying, but it just doesn't add up," Oasis said frowning.

"I'm sorry if I was vague with some of my answers about magic. But I can't tell you more without compromising your safety," Ellin said closing her notebook.

"Ya ya, so you keep saying. It's all too M.I.B. for my taste," Oasis said getting up.

"If you agree to join our store, Rebecca said I can share more secrets, Ellin said slowly standing.

"Ya, but you said that Rebecca mandated every new employee of hers must join your magic mommy club. That means I would need to get knocked up. I am happy not knowing your secrets thank you very much," Oasis said crossing her arms.

"I understand. Most people would agree with your decision. But being pregnant isn't that bad. In fact, I think you would like it," Ellin said packing her things.

"Fat chance, I am not going to lose my social standing at school and start a family just to play Harry Potter with you LARPing (Live action role-playing) friends," Oasis said with a snort.

"How do you explain my belly? Magic is the answer Oasis. Just accept the reality of magic and then we can talk about the details. I for one think being pregnant isn't too high of a price to pay to learn the secrets of sorcery." Ellin said firmly.

"I can agree that something weird is going on. But I bet it's like the 'Dancing Plague of 1518'. Yesterday everyone got hit by the mass hysteria of a 'Sex Plague' at the Sunny Day Mall. Now everyone will be using pregnancy mania as a mental defense to their hysteria. Clare got hysterical and instead of facing her mistake, she pretends she is in love with Peter. Everyone is going to have baby fever for a few days, and then everyone will move on." Oasis said putting her hands on her hips.

"And my belly?" Ellin said pointing at her middle.

"I can't deny your belly is real. But I bet you used some 'New Phantom Pregnancy ****'. Your millionaire boss probably bought some experimental **** so all her employees could be pregnant models or LARP as Life Witches." Oasis said firmly.

"Hmm, we will see. Let's call it a day," Ellin said walking to the exit.

"Follow me, Rebecca promised a second gift if you finished our questioning," Ellin said opening the door.

"Fine, but after this, I am going home. If I take the car will you need a ride after your shift?" Oasis said walking into the hall.

"No, I told mom I am sleeping over at friends," Ellin said waddling towards the breakroom.

"Is this friend your Role Play baby daddy?" Oasis said poking her sister's middle.

"No, I am staying at Rebecca's she is inviting all her store employees to her mansion for a sleepover," Ellin said sticking out her tongue.

"Hmm, a night at a spooky mansion you say? Sounds like your boss is going to hand out more 'Experimental ****'. Remember sis you can just say no." Oasis said smiling.

"Shut up, no one said spooky" Ellin said annoyed

"I bet you jumped at the chance to avoid mom's cooking," Oasis said with a laugh,

"No ... well ... maybe little ... it is a bonus," Ellin said looking back.

"Whoa!" Luke said grabbing Ellin's shoulder.

"Careful now, I wouldn't want to bump into our baby," Luke said stepping back.

"Ellin and Oasis my two sexy geishas. Please watch your step. These hallways are narrow," Luke said with a laugh.

Oasis took offense at being called anyone's sexy geisha. But as Oasis looked at Luke's handsome smile she felt her anger dissipate. Oasis looked away and covered her face. Her heart was fluttering.

"Oasis you alright?" Luke asked looking around Ellin's belly.

"Fine, and do I know you," Oasis said standing tall and stepping back.

"Oh, sorry where are my manners. Forgot about the memory wipe thing. I'm Luke. We met yesterday in the police station and had dinner together." Luke said scratching his head.

"I was on a date with you?" Oasis asked looking at Ellin.

"No nothing like that. Ellin was eating at Cane's Chicken late last night, you and Rebecca met her there. While Chief Bridges and I joined shortly after. That reminds me I met my lovely Susy there." Luke said with a laugh.

Oasis couldn't help but blush at Luke's laugh. It was so endearing.

"This is Susy," Luke said turning to show a short redhead with glasses.

"Hi!" Susy said nervously.

Luke leaned in closer to Ellin and Oasis.

"She is hella cute. I lucked out when she handed me a 'Breeding Pass' at dinner." Luke whispered.

"I can still hear you!" Susy said swatting Luke's back.

"Oh sorry dear, I was sharing my joy for getting such a bold redhead like you in my life," Luke said turning around.

Oasis watched as Luke picked Susy in a bear hug.

"This shy firecracker and me are off to have lunch in the break room. Let's hope the ladies didn't eat it all," Luke said shifting Susy into a princess carry.

"But I already ate," Susy said with a squeak.

"Now now you're eating for two. Let's go feed that baby," Luke said with a laugh.

The two were gone before Oasis could recover from blushing.

"I swear that man is getting hotter every time I see him," Ellin said shaking her head.

"Come on, let's go see Rebecca," Ellin said tapping Oasis on the shoulder.

"Sure," Oasis said still thinking of Luke's handsome face.
