Chapter 9 by texasweasel130 texasweasel130

Can April really win?

OH HELL YEAH SHE CAN!

As April assumed her stance, her eyes locked with Texas's. Fear flickered in the latter's gaze, but April met it with a resolute nod. She had made a decision.

The bodyguards lunged, but April was too quick. Using her tail as a whip, she swung it at the charging rhinoceroses, sending them crashing into the walls with deafening thuds. The bears, more nimble, tried to flank her from both sides, but April dodged their attempts with ease.

Vivian watched in disbelief as April effortlessly dispatched her guards. She had underestimated the deputy. 'How dare you!' she shrieked, throwing her notepad at April.

The notepad flew towards April's face, but she flicked her tail, deflecting it at the last moment. Vivian gasped in horror as the notepad ripped through the air and embedded itself in the wooden door behind her.

"That's it!" Vivian snarled. "I'm calling the police!"

She reached for her phone, but April darted forward and snatched it from her hand. "No, you're not," April said, her voice a low growl.

Vivian went to scream, but April clamped her hand over her mouth. "Listen to me, you two-bit tyrant," April hissed. "Texas has done nothing wrong. You're just jealous because she's more capable than you."

Vivian struggled against April's grip, but it was no use. April's tail tightened around her body, squeezing the air out of her lungs.

'I'm tired of you abusing your power,' April continued. 'I'm tired of you treating my friends like dirt. You're going to let Texas go, and you're going to apologize.'

Vivian's eyes widened in terror. She knew that April was serious. With a muffled voice, she managed to croak out, "I'll...I'll do it."

April released her grip, and Vivian collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath. 'Good,' April said. 'Now, get out of my sight.'

Vivian scrambled to her feet and ran out of the office. April turned to Texas, who had been watching the entire ordeal with wide-eyed astonishment.

"Are you okay?" April asked.

Texas nodded. "Yes...thank you, April."

"You're welcome," April said, a small smile playing on her lips. "Let's get you out of here."

April and Texas left the office and made their way outside. Texas couldn't help but wonder what the future held. But one thing was for sure: Vivian's reign of terror wasn't over...

What Happens next...?
