Although, now that I think about it, did she even have a ring on her finger? I can't remember, though I wasn't really looking for one. That actually brings up an interesting question: could someone get this identity if they're not in a committed relationship? The remote is supposed to be random, after all. I just never figured out exactly how random. Still, whether this Phoebe person is married or not, this isn't a great outcome for her.

I seriously need to be more careful. Okay... maybe if I encounter Phoebe again, I'll try to see if there's anything I can do to help her. I don't exactly know what I can do at this point, but I can at least make some kind of effort. I also need to make sure I tell Helen about this. For one thing, she made it clear that she wants to be up to date on everyone that the remote has been used on, but she also might be able to find some way to help. She's better at that kind of stuff than me anyway. Unfortunately, she's should still be in her meeting with Katia right now, so I'll have to wait until later to let her know.

So... is that it? Can I not do anything else besides telling Helen and hoping I see Phoebe again in the future? I think so. Man, that stinks. And after everything was starting to slowly come together, now I have something else to figure out. But that's always how it goes, isn't it?

I take one last look around to see if I can find Phoebe again, but I have no such luck. She's nowhere in sight, and I have no way of knowing what direction she went. Like I said, I've never seen her before, so I couldn't hope of guessing where she was headed. And if I just happened to catch her as she was leaving campus, forget it. If that's the case, she could have gone anywhere.

It seems that just like with the twins, I'm **** to cut my loses for right now. Perhaps I'll run into Phoebe again at some point, but who knows? Maybe I'll even meet Mr. Suzuki one day, if such a person even exists, but again, I won't hold my breath. I don't know if I would even want to meet said spouse...

With a slight downer of an ending to the day, I put away the Random Remote (being extra careful how I put it away this time) and head for the bus stop. Hopefully I have some better luck when I get home.
