Nothing for now

"So what do we do about that? Also we really need to go shopping, I can only make fried eggs from stuff in here." You ask while handing the Ipad over to her.

"I don't mind eggs. And I don't think we should do anything about it." She says, finger slowly scrolling down the article. "Picture is blurred and look a bit like taken from Photoshop. Besides, this kind of stuff isn't taken seriously by any of the bigger news outlets, so it will be just a small thing on a local level."

You can't argue with that logic.

"Ok, but let's avoid park for some time. People might be observing it for next few days and you do look similar to that person on the picture. That and your new manifesting powers... You know, someone might put two and two together."

She nods and helps you with preparing breakfast. Apparently flight, or levitating is quite helpful when reaching for stuff on the high shelves.

"So anything new, any new powers or expanded abilities?"

She squints her eyes, trying to figure that out.

"I don't think so. I don't feel stronger, my reaction are not faster and I don't have to get used to any new surges of adrenaline. And that's usually what happens when my abilities are pushing for new levels."

"Ok. Anyway, how strong are you right now?"

"Right now... Not sure. Last week I was able to lift a small delivery van without any problems. But, you know, I didn't check the limit of that strength. It's not like there are things that weigh couple of tones for me to lift and check."

"Fair enough. What about speed?"

"Well, it depends. And I kinda need some runway. But I think I can break two hundred miles per hour."

"That's actually pretty awesome. You can run and be home in like three hours." You calculate quickly.

"Hm, not really. I barely can turn at higher speeds due to sheer velocity. Also there is trash and bugs constantly in my face, so I'd need like a bikers helmet or something. And I don't have same breaks as cars or trains, so to actually stop I need to use all that momentum to jump and then land. Well, that, or slow losing speed. I prefer not to use that speed anyway as running so fast completely messes up my shoes." She says, clearly having experience with that. Your girlfriend must have tested her abilities quite extensively.

"What is your flight speed then? Should be easier to do all that in the air?"

"It's quite slow for now. It's more like levitating than a proper flight, clearly one of my least developed abilities."

"That and cooking." You laugh while she is trying to break eggs.

"I don't have to learn it since you know how to do it." She responds while stabbing you with her elbow. You both laugh.

"So... Any idea what triggered all those abilities? Why are you basically a super girl?"

"No clue at all." She sighs. "I didn't touch any meteors, toxic sewage, ancient artifacts. No dangerous accidents either. And I'm pretty sure I'm not an orphan and my real parents are not from space."

You think that she went through pretty much every super hero origin ever. Or at least big majority of them.

After you both ate, your girlfriend volunteered to wash the dishes while you go out to store. Neither of you have classes on today, so you can just stay home and be busy with only each other.
