What Does Lois Do?

Nothing She Can Do: She's Stuck!

It was now tight in the tunnel. Too tight. Lois could feel her bare belly pressing against the metal floor, her back against the ceiling. The reporter waited for a few more minutes, which seemed to stretch out interminably...but after hearing nothing, Lois decided to risk pulling herself forward.

Only to find she couldn't.

Her hands pressed against the sides and bottom of the vent, but could not find enough purchase to shift her forward. She pressed her feet against the sides, tried to coordinate all of her limbs...but it was helpless. Lois stared down, past her breast, and was somewhat amazed to see how vastly her stomach had swollen.

It pinned her back against the top of the vent, without enough purchase to even twist around. Her hands reached down to touch it, and the skin was warm, firm...she poked around, found her rib cage, and then beneath that...it felt like a heavy water balloon. Her hands pressed, grimacing in discomfort as the taut skin had far less give than it should have.

It can't be my womb, the reporter told herself, as she rubbed her thighs together. I'm not pregnant, it doesn't happen that fast. It's just an allergic reaction or something...

Whatever it was, it didn't change the situation: Lois Lane was stuck.

She tried to twist, but the belly wouldn't budge. Worse, she could almost feel it still growing. This was bad...and Lois knew that the situation was untenable. The reporter wouldn't accept that the situation was helpless.

I have to do something...but what? If I call for help, the cultists find me. I can't text for help, because I have no signal. Wedged in here tight, and it's getting tighter...

The reporter wracked her brains. There had to be something.
